LF players for fate accelerated game on saturday evenings, 7pm EST to 11pm EST.

THE WHO Hello! I’m looking for a few people who might like to play Fate Accelerated on saturdays. This game is going to be really light on mechanics - we’re going to let the narrative and RP pretty much handle everything. Never played Fate before, but always wanted more story/RP out of your gaming sessions? Try it out, Fate Accelerated is designed to bring new players into the fold really quickly. You really don’t need to know anything at all, before we play, other than what kind of character you might want to be. THE WHAT You guys will be playing as colonists heading out from the old world, to settle the new. This is a fantasy world, with some fantasy races - though no elves, dwarves, or halflings. Think spanish conquistadors finding centaur, merfolk, and beast races. There is gunpowder, but this is a no magic world. The gist of the game is that you will be showing up as conquerors, explorers, or settlers, and capturing/finding/settling a new town. We’ll fast forward whenever possible in-between sessions, to let the world advance. Here is your imperial charter! Our first session will be a game creation session. During that time we’ll create our characters (again, new players are totally welcome, but you have got to love storytelling more than dice rolling!) and we’ll also create the expedition. The players don’t have to play as the leaders, and you can shape the expedition however you’d like. Want a small group of outcasts? Want a huge cast of colonists? Want a purely military endeavor? Or just a few intrepid explorers? Go for it! This is definitely a sandbox game. The plot is what the players make it. If you die, or your settlement fails, we’ll start up a new group of colonists. If you succeed, and the game hits a nice stopping point (say, your settlement is stable and thriving) we’ll start up some new characters as well, and land somewhere else. Eventually, our fast forwards will hopefully get us to the point where we populate a continent with interesting towns and characters - some of which may have been former PCs! THE WHY Why are you settling a dangerous new continent? Dragons. THE WHERE We use Roll20 and Skype for just voice, no video. THE WHEN Saturdays starting at 7pm EST and running around 4 hours until 11pm EST. We take a break halfway through, and this time frame is pretty negotiable. Also, once the snow melts, we might want a different day of the week to play - I don’t know about you, but I currently just want to spend my weekends warm and cozy inside! Send me a private message if you’re interested in joining. I’d love to know a little about you. I’m 28, really love to GM games, and I think I’m a pretty okay GM. I’ve been playing Fate for about a year, D&D for maybe a year or so before that. I’m really looking for a player driven experience, with a story that maybe isn’t going to win any awards for uniqueness, but that is fun to spend my weekend evenings with. I want heroes struggling against the odds, or grim characters doing what has to be done to get ahead in life, and the motivation for doing so coming from the characters themselves not from dark wizards or through being the chosen one. What about you?
Still looking for one or two more players!
Would still love to pick up a player, if anyone is thinking about it.
We've got four players so far, so there's room for more if anyone would like to join!
I'd love to join! I pmed you my info and such. I'm looking forward to it!
Are there books I will need?
Nope. We'll teach you everything you need to know.
When is it starting? I'm well versed in 3.5 so not a total noob
We're planning on starting tomorrow (Saturday) at 7pm EST.
