depends on the tablet. I have skype running on my galaxy tab2 but I don't know about any others. Roll20 doesn't have anything to do with Skype. They use something else. You have to look to your manufacturer about your tablet supporting the use of Skype.
on iOS anyway you would have to use skype in the background (maybe something else but I don't know of anything off-hand) since google hangouts doesn't allow apps, and also doesn't allow itself to run in the background. Assuming you want to run everything on the same device. If you had a phone capable of google hangouts you could have a separate hangout for the a/v chat and just use the tablet for the game.
Thanks Perry. I use a nexus 7 for almost everything (I'm on it now). The only thing that's keeping me from subscribing is that is like to plug in a headset and use it for chat in-game. I will absolutely describe when/if they move away from a flash chat and into something compatible. Until then, computer it is! XD
Right now skype seems to work better than tokbox to me but others will say the opposite. You will have to find what works for your group. The dev team are working on another way of having voice/camera but it is still a WIP. I think you have to have the latest chrome and I'm not sure if it is supported in mobile devices yet. Not sure about google hangouts since I don't use them (personally I hate giving up most of my screen to them). I've heard of people using ventrilo and mumble servers but I have no personal experience with that.

said: I meant flash lol. So I wouldn't need to ask the group to skype you will still need to ask your players to skype but roll20 itself, nope.
I have the latest Chrome, but I understand as a subscriber you're given access through the mobile version as well. I'm going to have to bounce it off of my group on Sunday because the in-app chat is fairly low quality anyways, but it'd still be convenient to have a non-flash based chat solution built directly into the app itself lol.
Well, there IS a non-flash based option on the way, though I'm not sure how far out it is yet. WebRTC is still pretty experimental, though and I don't think it's implemented in any of the mobile browsers yet.
They pulled it from the campaigns (main servers). I haven't checked on the dev server so I don't know about that there. I think like Sarah stated, it is considered experimental and being worked on so it is not for general use yet or so I understand. When a dev or mods speaks about it, they will probably supply more info.
