I've been wanting to try a spell caster that doesn't rely on heavy damage spells for a little while. I've have ~15 years of 3.5 experience and want to move into the PF world (I like the things they added). Going to do a bit more looking at races. Char Name: Jace Class: Wizard Specialization: Illusion Banned: Evocation and Necromancy Age: 126 or a reasonable gnome age (this was for a campaign that didn't allow gnomes) Background: Jace is the son of well to do traders so he grew up far away from the elvish lands. He spent his first 90 years diligent to his studies. He had a special love for history due to him constantly moving around and meeting new people and loving the stories they told. When Jase was 75 he met the son of the local town wizard. While Jace was in town he convinced the wizard's son to "borrow" one of his father's spell books. Jace was sure that he could handle what ever spells they found due to his elvish heritage. He had grown up hearing the stories his parents told of the great elvish wizards back home who could control magic like the river controlled the water. He learned a simple spell that would make others see an image of his choosing and Jace and Keaton had fun using it to get into all manners of mischief. 20 years later while out traveling to a new town his parents were stopped by bandits. The bandits brutally murdered his parents. When the bandits found Jace in the back of the wagon Jace attempted to create an illusion of a grey render. However because of his tremendous fear the spell went awry. Instead of creating the illusion of a grey render he turned the whole forest into a barren waste land where devils and demons roamed. The bandits fled and Jace was rescued by the town watch who was making their rounds. In the town of Helmswake rumors of what Jace had done started circulating. Unfortunately for the boy the rumors weren't he created an illusion they were he summoned one of the 9 planes of hell. No one would hire Jace and he soon found himself on the streets trying to survive. After a few months on the streets an old wizard who was intrigued by the rumors of what Jace had done found Jace and took him in. The old wizard realized that Jace would have had no way to get access to a spell of that caliber so he figured it was not so much Jace summoned a plane of hell but just made it look like he summoned one. Jace has lived and studied under the old wizard Gorath for the past 31 one years. He has earned the guarded respect of the town owing to he still has a bit of a wild side and likes to play harmless tricks on people but his abilities have saved more than one life. Over the past 31 years the young elf has struggled with the death of his parents and that struggle has made him become more eccentric with each passing day. Currently he is forgoing the standard robe worn by wizards for more of a suit and has changed his hare from the ephemeral blond to a very bright orange with lime green tips.
