LFP - New GM considering weekday evening (8pm CST+) campaign. System, setting and day TBD (Tue-Thu). Interested? Read on...

I've been itching to crawl behind the GM screen for awhile, and am finally getting the time to really dig in on Roll20. At this point, what I really need is - players! Rather than work on a system or campaign without input, I decided to take the opposite approach, and am soliciting input from anyone interested in the ideas below. "Why should I be interested?" Great question, if you're asking it. I'm in my thirties, and a long-time gamer, but I've had little time lately to dedicate to anything except occasional PC gaming (raising kids is tough!) That being said, I'm a pretty creative guy and looking to work on a campaign collaboratively with the group to keep things fun, enjoyable, and memorable now that I have some time for it. "Do you have a setting or system in mind yet?" That being said, I'm most familiar with Shadowrun, Pathfinder, DND5e, 13th Age, and Numenera - so we're going to have to settle on one of the above. Personal preference for me at this point is a system that's a little easier (re: lighter) on the rules side. As a new GM, I'd rather focus on creating good encounters and good stories, than wrestling with a new rules system or something really crunchy (as much as I love Pathfinder, that means it's not my preference here). As crunchy as Shadowrun is, it's an option because it's different. As for the setting - I am NOT a horror guy, so that's out. Looking for a campaign that focuses on a healthy blend of RP, combat, and intrigue, or that even borders on a bit of mystery. High fantasy is not typically my MO either - I prefer a bit of grit over gloss. "Date/Time?" TBD. I'm free Tues.-Thu. from 8pm CST on, so looking for this to be a late weekday game that runs for 3-4 hours. Would probably plan on playing weekly, knowing that we'll end up skipping an occasional week due to conflicts, etc. " Will we use webcams, Skype, etc.?" We will use webcams - I think this adds to a lot of immersion when I've played on Roll20 (so much easier to see people, expressions, pantomimes, etc.!) "What do I need to do?" Drop me a note in this thread or in a PM, and let me know a bit about yourself and what you'd like to play! That's my primary goal at this point - talk to a few folks, see what clicks for everyone, and go from there to determine the system and the type of game that everyone would like to play. If you'd like to chat on Hangouts or Skype, that's great too - let me know! Cheers, Ben
Ben i've had a shadowrun group together waiting for a DM for about two weeks now. would you be interested in meeting with us?
Hi Ben, do you fancy a chat on Skype?
I may be interested in a Numenera or a Strange game, if others are as well. I would need to play after 8 PM CST on Mon, Wed or Thursday nights. If there is interest, please let me know. Thanks!
