Hi Woppet. Thanks for the response. I am all about collaboration and letting lots of great minds work together. With that said, I have a fully extant campaign running, so if you aren't interested in collaboration, that's ok too. Some guidelines of my world that I follow (was saving for conversation with voice but can go into it a little here) keep the world's power level relatively low. I would call the world a low-magic, low level NPC campaign. Most of the people in the world have no class and have 1d6 hp. Most of the people in the world have ability scores that range 9-11. The players roll 4d6 and drop the lowest 6 times place the scores where they will. At first some people don't like this method, but I have found a pc with all 13's in abilities scores is very strong in a world like this, and someone with the random 18 is AMAZING. I mentioned the world is low level. 95% of the people in it have no character class as mentioned above. Of the 5% who do, 95% of them are 1st level. Of the remaining 5%, 95% are 2nd level...and so on. So a high level character is very rare and very powerful. The other day I actually randomized a level 5 fighter. He was nigh unstoppable amidst the rabble. Of course there are pre-made characters who are otherwise, I am just talking about random stuff. Back to collaboration...I would dearly love a council of DM's with whom we could collaborate within a set of guidelines. I plan to incorporate this enterprise legally, so the bad part of that is the usual disclaimer you get from games - anything submitted becomes the property of the game, etc...these things are simply to protect the integrity of the game. If someone later gets angry and wants to leave and take their ball home, but they had this great idea for how the gnomes are in our world that's unique and threaten to sue us over its use if we don't change it...well you can see how damaging that can be, so that power trip potential has to be nipped in the butt. To that end, I will be the final arbiter of all issues like this regarding what does and doesn't happen in the world at large. This may be a turn-off to more creative types, so I want to put that out there early so there are no misunderstandings. Knowing these things, are you still interested in talking more about it? Don edit: I forgot to mention a lot of things that would come up in a convo...for instance there ARE lots of high level and magical things to do in the world, just not in the "starter" lands. I envision two game modes. One, the "public" mode requires GM's to follow a more structured path concerning xp and money growth because characters are transportable between games, or could be used at potential public games at Con's, so we want the path to be fair for all. There could also be a "local" mode in which the GM has loads more control over content etc and just uses our ideas, but the characters used couldn't be logged and registered in the main database and used at public events. There are loads of options.
