Trouble With Private Messages

I am having a huge problem sending private messages. I have no problem receiving them or replying to them. But when ever I try to send one to someone all that happens is my screen darkening a bit and there is nothing to type in. And when I click the screen brightens up again, but I can't click anything and have to refresh the page. I've tried it with all my browsers (Internet Explore, Google Chrome, Firefox), but nothing does the trick. Anyone else having this problem, or is it just me.

Wesley, I seem to remember someone else having this problem awhile back. It was a setting on their end of things but I cannot remember what the solution was. I will poke one of the other Mods or Devs who might remember. :) In the meantime, you might want to double check your Extensions, Plugins, and antivirus settings to make sure none of them are interfering.&nbsp; Also, could you go to&nbsp; <a href="http://supportdetails.com/" rel="nofollow">http://supportdetails.com/</a> &nbsp;and post the information (except IP address) you find?&nbsp; - Gauss
Thank you so much. I've had some very important information to send to my group members, but this bug just kept getting in the way. I would be very thankful if you could help me. I'll check that stuff and see if it helps. If you can find the solution, that would be wonderful. Thanks again.
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 Screen Resolution: 1366 x 768 Web Browser: IE 10.0 Browser Size: 1366 x 767 Color Depth: 24 bit JavaScript: Enabled Flash Version: 11.7.700 Cookies: Enabled That's all the information I saw. I hope it helps. Even if I don't know what half of it means. Especially that enabled cookies part. That doesn't make any sense.

To easy to start an&nbsp;argument) IE10 : That might be the problem. Try Chrome since it is the recommended browser. screen resolution is how many pixels wide and high your monitor displays. doesn't impact your problem color depth is how much richness in color you display. You have it set to the highest so you have almost lifelike color. doesn't impact problem. Javascript is just coding that a browser uses to perform a function aka a program language. you want it enable for this site. becareful on random sites, you can get a virus that way. Flash : another type of program that operates in the browser. very helpful. looks up todate also.

Could you post a screenshot of what happens when you are trying to send a PM to someone?&nbsp; Also, could you do the support details for Chrome?&nbsp; Cookies are little bits of data that websites store on your computer. It allows your computer remember information regarding the website.&nbsp; Since you are having a problem across multiple browsers I am wondering if it is something regarding your system. Perhaps an antivirus setting. - Gauss

sounds almost like an ad blocker. I missed the reference about chrome in the first posting. Wesley have you shut down all your extensions, &nbsp;plug in's and other dodads that are installed in your browser? If not then find them on the browser you are using and look into disabling them all then try to send a pm. you can send it to me if you want or I sure gauss wouldn't mind. try to take a screen shot of it when you try so if it fails you can post it here.
Thanks guys for all your help. A few quick things. Windows 8: not my choice, it came with the laptop and I'm no tech wiz. And following that note, since I only use the computer for basic things I am not sure how to screen shot something. If you could give me a quick once over on that I could do it (Fast learner). Now I believe the plug in's are located in settings. If I am incorrect&nbsp;send a final message with the screen shot info and I'll fix it up right away and send one of you guys a pm. Hope this isn't too much of a hassle. Don't want to be a giant burden on you guys. I'm pretty sure you have better things to do than fix my problems.
Hi Wesley, screenshots are pretty easy in Windows 8, actually. (And I'll shake my fist at Metroknight and say it's awesome. :) &nbsp;) Just get what you want in the shot on your screen and press the Windows Key + PrtScn &nbsp;(windows key is the one below the z with the windows flag on it). &nbsp; Then press Windows Key + E and it should open up the location of the Screenshots folder (It should be be in your Pictures folder, actually). &nbsp; You should find your new screenshot file in the folder. Location of plugins varies from browser to browser. &nbsp; In chrome (the one I use the most) just click on the three black bars in the up right hand corner of the browser and choose "settings" from the pop up menu. &nbsp; It will open a new tab. &nbsp; On the left side menu, click on "extensions." This will give you a list of your plugins/extensions and you can enable/disable them as you like. In Firefox, hit Ctrl + Shift + A to get to your plugins where you can disable/enable them. I almost never use IE, but try clicking "tools" (upper right corner in the browser) and choose "manage add ons" from the drop down.

I use windows 7 but the wife has windows 8. When we get back from the docs and no one else has piped in, I will dig around on her laptop for the options/ extensions setting location.
Okay guys I've gotten the messages to work and have sent a pm to Metroknight. I guess the problem was all the extensions. Thanks for all of your assistance in this problem.

Sorry that I didn't get to respond to you in a reasonable time but life slapped me in the face. My wife went to visit some friends and took her laptop with her so I couldn't work on finding the info for you. Try enabling each extension one at a time to see which one broke it for you then post it here for other people who might have your problem can know to try your solution. I saw and replied to your pm of "IT WORKS"
Now this may sound odd. I turned on every single extension back on. Even some of the ones I didn't have on in the first place. But when I clicked to pm it didn't break. It's like it's fixed forever and I can't break it again. I would love to help to solve this problem for future users, but if I can't break my pm again I can't find out what caused it. For now you'll have to tell anyone with this problem to just turn off all of their extensions. Sorry I can't be of any help. P.S. No need to worry Metroknight. I don't really need that info. Besides, we all get slapped by reality from time to time.

I lay odds that one of your extensions was not installed correctly and when you disabled it then enabled it corrected itself. You may never find out which one.
