New player looking for any group

As the title states I am almost completely new to pen and paper D&D. I've played several D&D style rpgs such as the baldur's gate series, neverwinter nights, icewind dale, planescape, ect however I've never actually tried an oldschool D&D style of play. After watching some videos of groups playing it intrigued me quite a bit as I enjoy character creation as well as roleplaying. I'm looking for any kind of campaign really, preferably one that starts at level 1 as I enjoy building my character from the ground up. I have a character sheet made for a Human Fighter and an Elf Ranger, though I could make a cleric if a healer is needed as well. I'm not familiar with any of the other casters though and could prefer to stay away from them. I know 3.5 and Pathfinder rules for the most part. In any event, just let me know on here and we can talk further concerning it.

Looking for feedback on them, as well as using them to provide examples to the types of characters I plan on playing. Could also make a Cleric, Paladin, Rogue, Monk, or Druid if need be. Though my preferences are Fighter and Ranger.
