Unable to sort Journal entries between folders and subfolders

As the title suggests, I am having problems organizing my handouts on the Dev Server. Namely, I try to move the journal entries between the various folders and subfolders i've created to simplify things, but they don't move. I did successfully manage to dump everything out of the character folder by deleting it, but now I can't move them anywhere. I'm wondering if I'm simply misunderstanding how moving journal entry works (Drag and Drop) or if its something else entirely.

In order to move/rearrange the items in your journal folder structure you have to click on the handle, the three black horizontal lines. Is that not working for you?

It does not seem to be working for me, no. Perhaps it is because I'm using Google Chrome, but when I try to click on the 3-black bars, it tries to highlight everything rather than doing anything else. When I hover over the journal entry (making the 3-black bars appear) I can drag it from the name, in which nothing really happens other than looking like it's able to be drag and dropped. Or I can regular click any part of the entry to get the Bio and other information to appear, but I at least don't see any options there to do anything other than Duplicate, Archive, or delete the token. Also, thank you for the quick response.

Can you provide your console log and if you want the URL of your campaign and I'll take a look.

Hi Tatsuya. Chrome and Firefox are the two recommended browsers for roll20. Make sure you grab the "handle" that shows up along the left-side of the file name when you hover over the name. Make sure you drag to just below the folder that you want to move to and then move the file to the right before dropping in the folder. Hope this helps.

Thank you both for the responses, and you Vince for the gift of how it works. That is what i've been trying to do on my laptop, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for me. When I click the three bars like in the gif, it automatically tries to highlight everythingrather than picking up the journal entry. Oddly, I just tried it on my phone, which I am currently typing on, and it worked just fine. My laptop uses windows 8.1 if that matters and runs adblock. I wonder if either of those might be causing a conflict. I'll see if I can grab the console log when I am back at my laptop.

Might be an issue with mouse settings...? Are you using a touch screen perhaps?

I'm using a Logitech wireless mouse. I can try to see if the touchscreen works when I get home in 40 is minutes.

Huh, strange, it suddenly fixed itself. Wasn't working at all yesterday/earlier today, aside from that one time I used my phone to test if that worked, and now it suddenly is working fine. Didn't change any settings on my end as far as I know. The most I did was turn off my comp before going to sleep, and turning it on when I got back home just now.

Tatsuya, is it possible you laptop has some touch capabilities and the browser was confused as to what mode your computer was in. I.E. you were using a mouse but it thought you were using a touch screen?
It's possible. My laptop does have a TouchPad though I rarely use it. Normally I just stick to using the wireless mouse. I didn't have any other problems that I can think if when I was using my mouse at the time. But a conflict could explain it.

If it happens again can you try using the touch interface to move folders to see if that's what was going on?
Sure, and i'll let you know shortly after if/when it happens.

Thank you for the offer, but we actually have a very robust wiki filled with lots of documentation, take a look at our Journal page to learn more about our new folders!
