Good Day Role-play enthusiasts, Day : Sunday Time : 7pm-10pm CST (8pm EST or 5pm PST) (Weekly meetings) System : D&D 4th Edition Experience : All Player types welcome (Please read Players Handbook 1 at least) World : My own creation (Medieval-ish era) Communication : Most likely Skype or Google hangouts. No video required but audio is very helpful DM Expectations: Players to attempt role-playing (Think about what your character would say, do or act) Players to treat the other players with respect (Remember, its a game made to have fun) Players to contribute to the game with a back story and world building Players to work together and to take the game a somewhat serious manner (But have fun) Players respect that the DM has the final say (No Rule Lawyers, DM may not be right but arguing stalls the game) Players to make D&D nights (Life happens and sometimes you can't make it, please do not make it a habit) Note: If there is a holiday or to many players will be out, we will skip a week) Still interested....? Below, post the following info. D&D experience..... Male or Female Your expectations or What your looking for. On The weekend of the 7th-8th of March I will choose 3 people to join . There will be a total of 4 players (plus one DM) playing in this game. I will check the forums before the 7th-8th to answer any possible questions players may have. After players are chosen, we will have a sit down to discus character building, world building and general questions. I plan on starting this campaign on Sunday March 15th. Edit: Playing weekly isn't set in stone, it will be up to the majority to decide how often we meet. Edit2: I have posted a small exert from the starting storyline. I hope it sparks interest.
Hi, 1. I have been playing 4E/Roll20 for about 2 years. Currently involved in a campaign with a L17 character, which we started at L1. Very comfortable with the rules and the interface here. 2. Male 3. See below :) I prefer the "yes, and..." style of play. Collaborative roleplaying, player agency, no mundane skill checks, interesting failure... Rules and rolls decide what happens, players (this includes gm) discuss what kind of game they want and stick to it, keeping the tone relative to the context. I prefer fun over simulation/realism. The GM shouldn't say "you can't do that because..." unless the reason is rules. The players shouldn't try to do things that are against the spirit of the game they've agreed to play. Rule questions and disagreements should be discussed between sessions, not during. If this sounds like the type of game you'd like to run, then I am very interested in joining :) Thanks for your consideration!
Hello man I would love to play 1. I have played 2 games of 4E before (I'm still kinda a noob) 2. Male 3. I don't mind playing anything and my only expectations is to have fun :) Thanks for taking your time to read this
1. Have played in and DM'd many 4e games.I mainly played and DM'd on rpgtablineonline.com prior to it's ongoing hiatus. Have used Roll20 a couple times for visual purposes for play by post games. 2. Male 3. I enjoy the ROLEplay, a story, reason for the madness and that to count toward the xp. Having run a LOT of 4e combat I have personally found it must be house ruled or else grow old. The way I have done that is to only use the nitty gritty rules for the "boss" fights, all others use liberal use of Action Points, seriously, I had people roll a d6 for action point like "boosts" for the minion like fights. It actually opened up more ROLEplay as the players got into the story of the combat more than the rules and tactics about it. That's just a thought anyway. Point is I like story the way it always was before rules lawyers took the DMs teeth away and have no clue to the history of the game. Can it be played tactically? of course it can, DnD has its roots in wargaming afterall. Gygax and Arnesson took that a step beyond by focusing on story and individual troops. This leads me to another point that is a stickler for me as it again goes back to original dnd. Rogues are Thieves or a swashbuckling pirate, even assassins, they are not fighters in lighter armor and Rangers are not thieves. To me a thief either belongs to the thieves guild and thus she may have a subquest for them as part of the regular party quest. She may even be working outside the guild and better not get caught. Likewise the swashbuckling type rogue is also working outside the law, both types may actually be considered necessary evils in the eyes of politicians in reality, My whole point is simply that these 'classes" mean something they are not just chessboard pieces with stats. I may not be able to play weekly, perhaps bi-weekly. Especially during spring and summer, I do wedding and party services so that is my very busy season. Rob
Hi 1. I am currently in a campaign and have some combat experience. I have a level one human rogue, but can be something else if need be. (Just be patient as I learn.) 2. I am a hundred percent female. 3. I am looking forward to having fun and role playing. I don't have a hundred percent experience role playing on Dungeons and dragons but being an 18 year old, sometimes I still make believe persay in my mind. It also helps I have a younger brother. I am listening to a podcast and that's how I got involved in this world of make believe. I hope you choose me to be in your quest since I am a full time student and I work up till five pm EST. So it is hard to find games I can play.
1) 4e GM for several months (loved it). Played 4e for a few months. 3.5e played for a few months, and DMed (hated it though). 2) 10% dude, 80% male, 10% mutant 3) As someone who ran a campaign and played in another, I hope for a very interesting experience. I come from theatre experience and tabletop, and I love theatre of the mind. I don't need to see tons of tokens or shiny graphics, describe the world to me and my character knows what it should do. World building or building on characters has always been my focus. If the characters are just there, they serve no purpose besides numbers and rolls. I'm not huge fan of combat, unless it serves to drive the story forward. I wanna play a fun character without the cliche D&D experience of dungeon crawling every game. A good dungeon crawl is fine in moderation if there's enough interaction instead of just plain combat. Interesting NPC characters also helps.
The Following is a little exert from the starting storyline told to the players. When the would was new and the nations of many were at war, one sought peace within the constant turmoil. Karteros Meri was the elder mage to the great king Wandrille Lewin and he had given advice to his king to keep his nation out of war, for he wished nothing more then to have peace brought to the land. But as the years passed, his efforts to stay out of war failed. Soon after a failed attempt on his kings life, the king marched to war. Karteros Feared that with all life at war, the clans of man and beast alike would be no more. Karteros knew he had to find a solution, and fast. Intrigued...... I hope so.
Yes very.
1. Have played about 20-25 full campaigns, mostly 3e and 3.5e, but did three 2e when I was starting. So new to playing 4e but familiar with the changes, and will pick up whatever extra books would be helpful. Have done both RP and combat heavy style campaigns, prefer a balance. Always been the guy that picks up whatever role nobody else wants, so experienced in all classes and the styles within them pretty much. 2. Male 3. Really looking to get back into DnD, have been playing 40k for last few years and want a bit of a change. Mostly I want to have fun. I enjoy the RP, though I'm not exactly the most talented at it. I'm laid back, get along with people and most of what enjoy is the player interactions (both in character and out). I really don't care what type of campaign it is or even how well it goes for the PCs as long as we're enjoying ourselves (had a campaign once where the entire party wiped from lousy rolls and the GM made us quest our way out the afterlife). I'd say my main fascination with DnD is the backstory/setting, and I really enjoy custom ones. All that said, I can play pretty easily on Sundays weekly and can even switch days if needed. I have pretty much every voice chat installed, though no cam on this rig (could get one if that's how we decide to go).
Good Day Role-play enthusiasts, The selection has been made, sorry if your were not chosen (no hard feelings). As some people post on many forums, one or more of the people I have invited may be per-disposed, so there may still be hope to enter the campaign. I am hoping all the spots are filled by tomorrow night and the campaign can start on schedule.

At this moment, there is ONE spot being waited on. If the person does not respond by game time today, the spot will be open. although the person being chosen will have no say in the initial rules and world building, sorry. That is my update. Later.
We are full! Thank you for all who posted and happy campaigning.
