We are currently: Semi-Recruiting. Leave a message if you're interested! Intro: Hi there everyone! I'm Alt and I've recently started my first homebrew game here on Roll20! Now I've got two loyal players already, however I was hoping to get some more people interested so here it goes: "In The King's Touch, you and your friends will be setting out on a adventuring in and around the Lia'eth Coast. A land scorn by conflict in the past 100 years. With civil wars, foreign invasions and rumors of ancient horrors resurfacing. Together you must overcome the challanges set before you and bring peace back to the kingdom." Preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRxvXDOxZBk What is King's Touch? The King's Touch is a campaign that I'll be hosting every sunday 1 pm EST, 6 pm UK. Starting when we get atleast 3 fulltime players (currently 1 DM & 2 players). The campaign will feature a large open world to explore which is ever expending. Aswell as feature many well known fantasy races like Elves and Orcs. All with their own culture and factions. Now because this is a homebrew there may be some tweaks here and there, but only to make the gameplay experience more fun for everyone. Not only that, but I'm often asking the players for their own feedback. So if you have suggestions, let me know! Not sure if this is the game for you? Then we are open for trial runs. Simply request to be part of one of our sessions and you'll join in as a mercenary. If the game is too your liking, you can decide if you want to sign up as a full time player! Background info / tutorial / extra info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTMUCXJ3nIU Features: *A main story campaign that takes you and your allies all around the world. *An in depth world filled with optional lore for you to uncover. *Meaningful choices. Your actions will have consequenses! *Focus on storytelling. *Newbie friendly. Very easy ruleset & "Ask me anything" policy. *Promotes & rewards roleplaying. *Friendly and casual admosphere. *Much more! We ask: *That you're 18 or older. *That you don't have trouble working together (no evil characters / no pvp / don't be a jerk). *That you show up or if you can't make it, let me know in advance. So! leave me a reply or shoot me a PM if you're interested! -Alt

For Full Time Players: Creating your character sheet: 1. Pick a name 2. Pick a race 3. Pick a class -Bard -Warrior -Rogue -Ranger -Cleric -Priest -Wizard 4. Pick a reason why your character is setting out to adventure. Example: "I've set out to see all of the world." or "When experimenting with gunpowder, I blew up the tavern, and now need to collect 1.000 gold." 5. Pick a phobia. What scares your character? Examples: Giant Spiders, Heights, Birds, Falling from Grace, Dissapointing your master, Dying, etc. Classes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5Jq2BK3Ckg
Replies send to everyone who showed interest! =) Let me know if you have anymore questions!
Giving a free bump, looks pretty sweet. Its a pity you play on Sunday or I'd give it a go.

Thanks =) Update: I just held the lottery and the following people won: Zazap Sareth Magnus Weadhead ChicagoMay Mike J. If you're not on the list, don't worry. You've been added as a back-up. Should people drop out, or if more slots open, then you'll get dibs! Thank you all very much for all the interest! -Alt
It's WebHead, but I'll definitely keep WeadHead in mind for the future ;)
WebHead said: It's WebHead, but I'll definitely keep WeadHead in mind for the future ;) hahaha, oops! Damn sorry about that. I knew your name was WebHead. No idea how I managed to misspell it so badly! o.O
can i join
While the time doesn't work for me, this does look interesting. And I gotta say, your accent is awesome. Made the videos nice to watch.
Kevin M. said: can i join Hi there! Sorry, like I said we filled up for now. I'm starting out with a smaller group to keep things organised, seeing as it's my own homebrew game, and there 'will' be changes to balance the game out. (Like my players will tell you.... chickens cost a fortune!) Oreo said: While the time doesn't work for me, this does look interesting. And I gotta say, your accent is awesome. Made the videos nice to watch. Hi there Oreo, first of thanks for your interest! Second, haha thank you for your comment about my accent. That's such a nice thing to hear! Same as with Kevin M. though. We're sorta filled up for now. If you're still interested, I can keep you up to date with: "Heroic Victories" which will basicly be machinima's I'll be making and uploading whenever my players get into an epic battle. -Alt
UPDATE: Hello there Roll20 community! We're looking for one more person to join us! If you're interested or have shown interest in the past, why not leave me a comment or shoot me a PM. The first post explains the requirements and table rules. You will start your character at level 3 and join in with the rest of the guys. -Alt
Bumping! We're still looking for 1 or 2 new people to join us! If interested, I would recommand watching "What is the King's Touch" (posted above) to see if the gameplay suits you!
This seemed to good to be true when I saw the post, I have been looking for a game like this for ages now. And than it had to be at the exact same time as my other game... damn it to hell, good luck finding people.
Shame to hear that mate! Thanks for the reply though =)
Are you still looking for additional players? If so, I would potentially be interested in a trial session, but there are a few things that could be no-go's for you or me so I'll go ahead and clarify those first if thats okay. How large is the group right now? I prefer ones that have no more than 5 players as in my experience more than that amount of players just causes the quiet ones to not speak at all and seems... counterproductive, I guess. Your game time is Sundays, 6pm which is GMT +1, right? Just verifying. I am kind of a character player, as in there are many types of characters that are fun for me as I just dive right into their personalities and play what feels right... This doesn't necessaily mean that they go along with the group every time just because its the group, so this could be a potential issue for you methinks. Currently I am kind of in the mood for a pacifist which could be interesting, but I am flexible, which leads me to my next question: Which classes/what kind of characters are currently in the group? (bold warrior, paranoid jumpy wizard and the likes) I don't have a webcam and only a 6k internet connection so even if I got one I would be an unsightly blob or something. I do have a microphone, of course, but as I am new to roll20.net I am a bit unsure how the noise factor will be on that side. On Teamspeak I am apparently very quiet and my volume has to be manually adjusted on other peoples' end as I can't boost it any further on my end. So... this could be a problem if no one can hear me or something *sighs* Thats it for now I think - looking forward to your reply.
Ello N H. Alright let's see: 1. There are currently 2 players in the group. 1 got promoted and could no longer join us on sunday, and the other seems to have disapeared. The remainers are. -Wizard -Elf Warrior with increadible bad luck. They're still sorta exploring their characters so I can't really give you any really specific character traits. 2. The game is held at 7 pm in The Netherlands. 1PM East Coast, lemme have a look here.... that 'should' make it 6 pm GMT+1! 3. Character players are more then welcome. As long as you're not evil, or actively go against the group. It's a combined effort and without teamwork you won't get far. 4. As for playing a pacifist, you'll be spending a lot of time in the wilds and most things you'll be up against aren't going to care that you don't wanna harm them. Plus you get most your experience from fighting enemies, so that means you'll be stuck at low level. 5. None of us have / use a webcam. No worries. 6. We'll see how to sort with the Mic issue when we come up against it. =) 7. Yes, I do have a "mercenary" character available. An Elf, you can pick any class you like to assign to him. See if you enjoy the game and if you do, we can start making you your own character!
Aloha! I am Lee and I wanted to ask whether I could try out a session too! I only played Pathfinder a few months ago for 5 sessions and I am interested in playing again. I do have several character ideas, which are actually quite good I think, but I'm not sure what is expected, needed and tolerated or if I should simply play as a "boring" mercenary first to see if I fit in as a person / player first. I'm a bit shy, but in the several games I had I ended up warming up to the others over the course of the games, although it depends on the tone of the others. I live in Germany so the time zones should not be a problem. My microphone seems to be perfect most of the time, but sometimes it refuses to work. Should not be a problem. Should I already send a character idea via PM if you have room or just join with a premade or something? Thanks in advance! Regards Lee //edit: Just to clear things up, I stopped playing not because I am unreliable or something, but because I only participated in one-shots and also the group stopped playing as a whole. I simply couldn't find other games and gave up. I personally would prefer roleplaying a bit over combat, but I had great fun palying in the massive dungeon crawl too, so basically my whole experience is in combat anyway. Also I am 19 years old so kind of close to the minimum requirement, my vocie actually sounds younger than I really am. I hope that's not a problem. At least mentally I am able to act more mature than most others my age (although when together with friends that quickly changes).
My sympathies for players disappearing, always hard to deal with that...(especially story-wise if you are a good gm) I apologize, but one of your answers does concern me a little:.do characters not receive experience for achieving goals like f.e. at the end of a quest, retrieving hard to find information (dialogue, theft, or just plain brutality)? Or is it simply that you as a GM prefer combat-driven campaigns to character- or plot-driven ones? Which is perfectly fine! Just a playstyle thing and I got a different impression from the videos you posted in the OP. If things pan out I would be up for an elven ranger, possibly. Either that or Cleric as I am considering that class for longterm since the group needs it.
Hey, Lee, fellow German resident! Looking forward to not be the only newbie to all of this - we might even consider being a mercenary team for the trial thing.
Mouse said: Hey, Lee, fellow German resident! Looking forward to not be the only newbie to all of this - we might even consider being a mercenary team for the trial thing. Being a mercenary team sounds great fun and even more logical than just two random dudes showing up! If we embrace our German accents a bit we could pose as mysterious foreigners or something, trained in the combat style of German Fu or something like that :D
Alright, first off. I freaking love the idea that you two are part of a mercenary band. As for the way exp works in my setting. You get rewarded for: 1. Quest completion 2. Roleplay 3. Killing hostiles 4. Really brilliant and creative strategies and ideas. 5. Playing games (like dice poker or fist fights) 'However' seeing as fighting exp is easiest to manage, that's where you'll find the bulk of experience. I might give you an extra 5 xp when you... for example, decide to buy an extensive dinner at a Inn after being out on the road for the past 2 sessions. However slaying a goblin might earn you 20 xp. So as you can see, someone who 'does' fight, will quickly outlevel you. And when a situation arrives where your party really really needs you and you refuse to help them out because you don't fight. Then people will probably get a bit annoyed. Or when you're attacked yourself and you refuse to defend yourself, you're putting yourself in great harm. Don't get me wrong, I'm very open for original characters, but in the end it's a team effort. Let me know what you two think. If after that wall of text you're still interested, then why not shoot me a PM and I'll invite you. Also, I'll be ingame most of the time, so if you'd like to have a look around, maybe run a tutorial or something. Let me know and I'm sure we can plan something! -Alt

I'm just worried that classes like Rogues or Bards who are not necessarily the best in combat will be at a disadvantage, but I assume that for those classes you are a bit more generous with XP for lockpicking, singing or making card tricks, stealing a wallet etc. Should I just make up a full mercenary character and send you my idea? I mean, story-wise it could make sense if I join the party if it seems to be very profitable (in terms of loot), you know, to give up my job as a mercenary and become full-time "adventurer". I will not have time for a small tutorial today but I will definitely be online tomorrow. I will send you my Skype! Regards Lee
I might be interested to join this game, I could attend todays game too. Pm me what I need to prepare, If I am accepted.

The pitch looks fantastic. I watched your youtube introductions and subscribed on youtube. Sadly I can't apply to join your story yet, because I have just started another game on Roll20 on Sundays (playing a homebrew variation of AD&D). Good luck in your quest and home-made game development! Your goals and bullet points are very agreeable, such as the character and story focus with a simplicity of rules mechanics. That is what I would want in my game. Have fun and keep up the good work.
haha thanks for the reply Gold! And thanks for subscribing! Most content I'll upload isn't D20 related though (those videos I keep hidden and only post on this site =) )

Altaranalt I was wondering that because I didn't find those Roll20 related videos on your youtube channel. The other videogames look interesting too, you record a lot, but I admit I was hoping you would be posting some Actual Play videos from your Roll20 RPG campaigns, or some more descriptions and videos of your house setting and house approach to the rules. I would almost show your videos to my new players to introduce my own style, or else make my own introductory youtubes like you've done. Once again, it's a nice approach, and I do wish I had joined your game straight away. Do you have a slot for another trial-player? Now I am ready to express interest in joining your game when a slot comes open. Please put me on the back-ups waiting list. The other Sunday game I joined was not so fun for me. It turned out to be a very grid-oriented combat system, with minimal focus on character or story. I dropped out of that today, so my Sundays are now open to join another game.
Hmm, I might start uploading some Roll20 then. Depents if I have enough time to edit it though. Plus recording 2 to 3 hours of footage can fill up your harddrive pretty quickly. We'll see. =) As for the group, sorry I just started talking with a new recruit which will fill up the party. But I'll keep you as a back-up! Should someone drop, I'll contact you!
