Google Chrome Aw Snap Issue on Mac

I'm unable to even sign in to Roll20 while on Google Chrome. The screen shot flashes briefly and then instantly goes to the Aw Snap screen. I've reinstalled Chrome, disabled every extension, etc. all with no luck. Works fine on my craptastic PC laptop on the same server, I can even launch in Safari on this Mac, but Chrome is a no go. Please help! Web Browser: Google Chrome Browser Version: Version 41.0.2272.76 (64-bit) Operating System: Mac OS 10.9.5 If Javascript is enabled: as far as I can tell, yes Your anti-virus software: none List of any browser add-ons or extensions enabled: Domain Error Assistant 1.4
I'm sorry you're having trouble with the site. Can you please follow Steps 1-3 of our Solving Technical Issues wiki page, taking special care to temporarily disable all browser add-ons and extensions, temporarily pause your anti-virus, and try switching browsers (for Chrome/Firefox specific issues) to see if one of those components is causing the problem. If all of that fails, please follow Step 4 , including providing all of the necessary information, so that we can further assist you.

Have you gone to <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Solving_Technical_Issues" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Solving_Technical_Issues</a> and work through the steps there? You state you have an addon/extenstion enabled, did you disable it to see if that helped? Have you tried Safari or Firefox? Both of those are know to work with roll20. Can you post your complete console log here (step 4)? Sarah, you ninja'd me. Lol
I already did Step 1-3 and cannot even get to Roll20, but perhaps I wasn't clear enough on my initial post . When you say add-ons, are you talking about Chrome plug-ins that are accessible via the "show advanced settings" (assuming Java, Shockwave, etc.)? Your Step 1-3 wiki doc does not advise doing that, but I disabled the only extension running and nada. I switched to Safari and it works fine (but can't use VOIP due to incompatibility issues). I am unable to provide a console log as it goes IMMEDIATELY to Aw Snap, so no screenshot, nothing. My info for step 4 is provided above. I'll try the "uncheck Predict Network Actions..." thingy in advanced settings when I get home. If that doesn't work, I'll try "uncheck hardware acceleration" also in the Advanced tab. Was working fine for my Monday night game, then last night, it just sent me right to the Aw Snap.
Neither of those worked. :(

I wondered what "Aw Snap" means (thinking it might be an Extension) so I looked it up. Not an extension. It is Google Chrome Browser's crash screen. Google Chrome themselves has a set of instructions, <a href="https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95669?hl=" rel="nofollow">https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95669?hl=</a>... The instructions involve checking antivirus, check firewall, check extensions, check malware, or final solution is 'create a new user profile'. User profile is a fairly recent area of Google Chrome that's been changed in recent versions of Chrome so if none of the earlier steps work, you might want to look into that last step and see if that helps it.
I went through all those steps Gold and then I tried logging into Chrome Icognito and no luck. Finally, uninstalled latest version of Chrome, then downloaded and installed version: 39.0.2171.65 and that's done the trick. I'm on with Mac Chrome now, but this may mean I'll have issues with Roll20 and the older version of Chrome. It's a work around for now I guess...

Hmm. Don't know if this tells you anything, but I played Roll20 twice this week, and haven't ever seen "Aw snap". I'm on Mac Google Chrome Version 41.0.2272.76 (64-bit). In other words my Mac hasn't needed to rollback to Chrome 39.x.

Yeah, I deleted Domain Error Assistant and that did nothing actually. I'll try the new user profile and see if that does any good.
Geez, took forever to find the Default folder (apparently its hidden in Finder) so that I could get rid of it. Relaunched Google Chrome 39.X, hit the Roll20 site and all is well. Google Chrome updates to new version, POW, Aw Snap error again. No malware on this Mac, I'm just about out of ideas here...
Is this when you're at <a href="http://roll20.net" rel="nofollow">http://roll20.net</a> or <a href="https://app.roll20.net/sessions/new" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/sessions/new</a> ?
Both actually. What seems to happen is that as soon as I try to log in from the home page, from that point forward, I get the Aww Snap error on the http site as well as the app site; can't get to either one of them. Still working here in the old ver 39.XXX of Chrome and was able to play last night on the Mac using it. Problem does not occur in Safari, but can't use VOIP with Safari.

T, I'm not sure what else to tell you. I have exactly the same set up you've described. I'm on Chrome 41 from a Mac OS and I'm not having issues, nor have I heard of anyone else having this issue after upgrading to the latest version of Chrome. My best guess it that it's something else on your computer, some third party software or service that's disruption Roll20. There is no reason that Chrome should crash just going to our site. The Aww Snap crash usually is a result of running out of memory, can you check your memory usage as you visit Roll20?

I'm experiencing something similar. Every time I launch my campaign, on both the regular server and the dev server, I get the "Aw, Snap" screen. I deleted my default folder and retried — no dice. I deleted my browser data — nada. I'm dead in the water with Roll20. I'd love to use Safari, but, as T pointed out, I can't use the chat. I can't see that I have any extensions in place. I've never used Chrome hardly except for Roll20, and so have had no opportunity that I recall to pimp the browser. I have a game scheduled for tomorrow night. Hope I don't have to cancel the session. Everything was fine until the new update was rolled out. Never had a problem before now. I will go through all the troubleshooting stuff in this thread — in addition to what I've already done. But I just wanted to add my voice on this issue. Version 41.0.2272.89 (64-bit) MacOS: 10.10.2 Javascript enabled No anti-virus software No extensions enabled Malware? On a Mac? Pft. That's crazy-talk.
Okay, I finally just rebooted my Mac altogether and was able to access my campaign again. Don't know if you've tried this, T., but it worked for me (so far). I've only been back in for two minutes, so I don't know if the problem will return but right now I'm back in!
Yeap, re-boot, does nothing for me. Tried that twice in fact. I'm currently keeping Chrome 39.X open since it auto-updates if you close it down. I'm not sure what I might have installed that could be causing the conflict, but if and when this straightens itself out, I'll update in this thread.
Well, I was in. I've been kicked out again. Grrr, just in time for tonight's session...
Sometimes I can get in, sometimes I can't. The issue persists, but I can't replicate it at will. All I know is I never saw this before the Update of Holding. I just rebooted and it didn't clear it up this time.
@ Malcolm W, Punt the current Chrome and go back to Chrome 39.X. As long as you keep it open (when you close Chrome and relaunch, it will update), you'll probably be fine. I've ran 3 sessions this way (in the past week) without issue.
Thanks, T. I may have to do that if we can't get a fix...
I've download Chrome 42.0.2311.50 beta (64-bit) and my Aw, Snap issues have dried up, looks like.
I'm still struggling with it. Weird I know...

Are you having the issue with the Chrome Beta or Chrome Canary?
I have not seen the Aw Snap issue since I started using the beta version listed above. I've had other weirdness, but not worth recounting here. At least I can get to and run my campaign.
Beta version seems to be working now. No idea...
