I've made a campaign, THEN i subscribed as a mentor, is my campaign on the Dev server? or are the Mentor perks not available to me? Do i have to move it somehow? Gav

Hi Gavin. The Dev server is a separate server for testing out features before they are released to the roll20 community as a whole on the Production/Main server. You receive all the perks of a Mentor regardless if you decide to move or create a new campaign to the Dev server. Some versions of API scripts(Mentor level feature) may only work on the Dev. You can copy an existing campaign to the Dev by logging onto the Dev server, go to the Home page and use the "Copy from Production" . NOTE(taken from another thread Copying a prod campaign to the dev server. What's the point? ): The Aaron said: It copies all of the contents of the campaign, but does not currently copy the externally configured details you mentioned above. So, it DOES copy all of the pages, characters, handouts, music, tables, decks and macros. It does not copy the API scripts (sad panda), character sheet, background image, forum posts, etc. So, after copying to the Dev you'll have to attach a character sheet template, any scripts used, and setup any of the external type features you want/need. You will have a new game join link as well that you will need to send to your players. Hope this helps. Cheers
All of the features are available on the main servers, The dev sever has experimental, testing and "not ready for prime time" features. The trade off is it can sometimes be unstable, not crashy-crashy unstable, but there can be problems there. you should always keep copies on the stable main server of what you are doing on the D.S.
thanks folks, found the button, have copied over the campaign, will test out some of the features over teh weekend and then decide, Probably will run full game on the main branch Gav

Great points Al e. I usually just make a backup copy right on the Dev and make sure I have important things backed up to the vault as well. Also, the Dev handles the image library uploads differently than the Prod server. If you drag and drop images to the Dev or use the "Favorite/Star" feature from the sidebar image search, they WILL NOT show up in your image library. Either use the Upload tool from within the image library on the Dev or use any of the "usual" methods on the Prod Serv if you want images to show in your image library. It's a quirk, but workable.
All of my main campaigns are on dev. It's relatively stable but don't expect it to be flawless.
