i have found i can add folders to my journal page, but i haven't been able to get any of my journal notes/characters to move from original folders into newly created folders.

In order to nest journal items inside a folder you'll want to drag them horizontally to the right until they drop from the root level down inside the folder.

whenever i grab any journal item and drag it around everything else grays out. there is nothing like your example happening, no shadow box opening up to receive journal entry in new folder

be sure to grab the item only by the "three horizontal line" icon to drag it around. If you grab it by the name, it won't work

If you click the name, everything else will turn grey, and you can drop that journal item onto the tabletop.

I have found it's easier to add a blank entry to the new folder first, then I can easily drag my old stuff into it.

I can drag things in and out of folders that already have contents, but if there is nothing in a new folder that I just created, I can't seem to add anything to it. Tried in Chrome and Firefox. Am I doing something wrong?

There is a knack to it, when adding something for the first time to a folder i hover the dragged file over the folder for a second before slowly moving it down and to the right until the grey placeholder that appears becomes indented... then release, smile and rest safe in the knowledge that future files will go into that folder a hell of a lot easier :)

At the bottom of the folder structure you have to drag things horizontally to the right to next it from the root layer down inside the folder.

Meh! I can't drag my folders around and they don't close with the stuff in them! I just moved all that stuff to the bottom. I'm not a folder person anyway.
