Dividing Decks into Sub-Decks

Hello, I was playing around with the Deck feature in preparation for playing an RPG that uses a tarot deck. I had no problem uploading and creating a tarot deck, however, the game requires dividing the tarot deck up into smaller decks and then having cards drawn and discarded to them in different ways. This isn't a simple matter of just creating multiple decks in the existing format as the cards have to be able to move around the various the decks. Specifically here's the various interactions. At the beginning the tarot deck has to be divided into the Major or Minor Arcana. The GM deals himself 4 Major Arcana and 16 Minor Arcana. This subset of 20 cards is not a "hand" it's a separate little GM Deck that is drawn from at different times. The remaining Major and Minor Arcana re-combined, shuffled and then 10 cards are dealt into a sub-deck called The Fate Deck. So you see, there are three decks in play: The GM Deck, The Fate Deck and The Main Deck. The GM draws cards periodically from the GM Deck and plays them on the table. These represent problems in the world. When they are defeated that card is placed in the Fate Deck. So the flow generally is a card moves from GM Deck -> Table -> Fate Deck. The Main Deck is periodically used for playing a trick taking similar to Hearts or Spades as a means of conflict resolution. So the whole deck is dealt out (including to the GM which is why the GM Deck can not be a "hand"). Cards are played to the table and tricks are taken. However, there is mechanic that lets a player draw a card from the Fate Deck and discard one of from their hand. That discarded card is initially played to the table because it is scored as part of the round. But rather than go back to the Main Deck it instead goes back to the Fate Deck. So you see cards can cycle quite a bit between Main Deck -> Player Hand -> Table -> Fate Deck. It would be fine if this cards have to be manually "placed" in these decks as there would be no way to determine where to "recall them." But that's basically the core feature: The ability to "Deal", "Place" and "Draw" cards into and out of a Sub-Deck. Thanks for your consideration. Jesse

Hi Jesse. Good idea. Have you looked at a similar suggestion Enhanced Card Deck Features ? I noticed that creating card "piles" is specifically mentioned, which seems at least similar to splitting a deck. Cheers
Jesse, did you use the RIder-Waite tarot deck? If so, is there some way you can share that deck with other roll20 folks? That deck has been public domain in the U.S. for years, and became public domain in the UK as of 2012. See Wikipedia's info on the deck.
