Quote from Sterling Cutter : your incomplete Roll20 profiles make you seem uncommitted. You are asking a hard-working group of RPG enthusiasts to believe you are ready to spend hours with them working on a collaborative story, but you haven't taken ten minutes to complete a profile? It looks bad. I personally avoid sending invites to folks with incomplete profiles. You don't have to write a book or tell your life story, but you should complete your Roll20 profiles. Also, your profile shows that you are not a GM in any campaigns and you say you haven't played ... that makes me think you have not learned about the Roll20 virtual tabletop interface or even seen it. You should start a new campaign, run it, and become familiar with the Roll20 interface. You want to look like you will be self-reliant with the interface. Good luck!
thanks

Hi Cloud, I would disagree with Rackdam/Sterling Cutter - I think that having an incomplete profile makes you seem new and unfamiliar with roll 20. Which, isn't surprising as you're new and unfamiliar with roll 20. (That said, it will probably help to complete those aspects in the long run) I'm intending to run a one shot this Sunday, probably evening GMT , so early afternoon in the states. It's a dark, gritty futuristic post apocalyptic setting with fantasy elements so there is something for everyone. The rules are heavily modified from existing games which means everyone will be new to them, so you won't be alone in not having a clue what's going on. Let me know if this sounds like something that would interest you and I'll PM you more details. We play on roll 20 but use Skype and a mic for comms. Best wishes, Stephen.
I agree with Stephen, you having an incomplete profile means literally nothing, only that your new to Roll20. This isn't some form of elitist club and anyone who takes it that way you do not want to be playing with anyway (well, I'm assuming you wouldnt). I have 170 hours in Roll20, currently DM'ing 2 different weekly sessions, and playing in a few campaigns and I've never touched my profile. Sadly the two games I'm DM'ing are currently full but I will send your name to the DM I'm currently a player in and see if he would like to add a new person. Just posting mainly to say that this isnt an 'elitist' club where you have to submit an application to play in. And if you dont find a game right away dont feel bad but make more post because there is a severe lack of DMs right now and there is nothing against you being new to Roll20, just the fact that there are so many players versus DMs.
