[GMT] - UK - Pathfinder Core - DM looking for group

Hi all, my name is Ben and I'm looking for a group of 4 players. I have very minimal experience with Roll 20 and I want to become better acquainted with the features and the community before I commit serious time and potentially money to the site. I plan to run a Pathfinder campaign over a minimum of 4 weeks. Characters will start at first level, level up to second level after Session 1, then to third level after Session 3 (assuming that the group works well and gets to the expected story points), so you can expect fairly quick progression through the low, "boring" levels. The game will be run one evening per week, on a week night, after I get home from work (around 7pm GMT start time, 10-11pm GMT end time). My evenings available are Monday and Thursday, we will decide the evening based upon player availability. Before you apply for a position, please consider: * I am used to running games in person, so I will need a little time to get used to a text/voice based way of playing, please bear with me during games * I am used to running games for a wide range of players, so if you bring any form of OOC discrimination into our game, I will have very little tolerance. IC discrimination should be discussed with the group at the first session, so we can work out each others boundaries. Still with me? Excellent. The game is very beginner friendly, no previous experience required. I can provide a pre-genned character if you wish, but otherwise character creation is in your hands. You will make a first level character, using a 20 point buy for stats. The game will use Core Races, and only official Paizo released classes and feats are allowed without discussion with me first. Psionics and Gunslingers (including any feats and classes based on grit or the gunslinger ideals) are not permitted in the setting. No Evil characters allowed, whether secret or blatent. You may select 1 additional Trait for your character after you are done. Your first mission went horribly wrong, and while you learned a lot, you used up a lot of resources for no gain. You begin play with the minimum gold worth of gear for your class, plus an adventurer's kit which will contain the basics for adventuring (flint, tinder, torches, rope, rations, etc). You do not know each other pre-game. You may not take feats or traits which increase your starting wealth. Since I have never run a game for 'faceless' people before (people I don't already know outside of the internet), I would prefer to have a quick IM/email chat with potential players before we begin, just to get to know you a little. If you are a minor in your country, please tell me this beforehand and let me know that your parent or guardian is aware that you are playing in a game which will contain violence and could reference sexual themes (depending upon the party and the direction which they take the game in). I am happy to chat with said parent or guardian if they wish. Finally, this will be a GAME. If you are unable to take light hearted joking and banter in stride and if you cannot take a bad roll at a bad time without throwing a tantrum, please do not join us. I want us all to have fun above all else. Thanks for reading! hello and welcome. my name is Zzan. this sounds VERY interesting. i would like to join the game(im gmt+2 so i was actuyl looking for some1 who game at this time) and i can do ether monday or tursday. you mantioned core races, but paizo for classes\feats the fact you mantioned gunslinger bring to mind that it is not only core book for classes. as such. i would like to play a warprist ,human or half elf. not sure yet. if it is ok. i got more question but will adress them to you via pm just to keep this thread thin. i will only add that i find skype better to use then the roll20 comunication over all. or google hangouts. and if you have any question about how to operate on roll20 i can try and answer. (i gm my own game on wednsdays. so far im a free user and it goes ok with me).

Some people have accents that are challenging to understand (hell, maybe i do) but noone i played with had any problems with that. Just hope i didn't jinxed it XD GMT+2 here btw, would like to join the game. I am free on mondays (not so much for thursdays right now). You said its core races, but we can take advanced clases like Magus or Cavalier? I am no super-pro in roll20, but know a few tricks about macros (tho i still prefer to write rolls by my own, it kinda feels closer to throwing the dice yourself... i guess... nevermind, i am wierd like that)

oh i forgot to add. i rather using sites such as mith weavers for the character sheets as the roll20's pathfinder sheet is just over complicated. espacily when used for rolling anything from there(the string that resolt is very long). i have my players use mith weavers and keep them on non alpha and open to public so i can look at them when i need to. also for rolling, it is much easier to type: [[1d20+2]] for a 1d20 roll with aded +2. then other mathods like some macro's iv seen that take up half the chat for a simple roll. this mathod give you the resolt number and when you hover the mouse over tell you what was rolled and with what bonus\panilties. fast and efficiant.
Clarification - I like the advanced races, but I do not feel they are as balanced as the core races, so I am only allowing core races in my games to begin with. However, you may use feats, classes, etc from any official paizo source (no third party) so long as it doesn't clash with anything else stated in the above post. Extra - I have had some people contact me directly on Skype, so I have a few people so far, I will send out a lore pack to those who have asked for one or responded here so far with more details in the next couple of days for character gen. Date - It looks like the games will be Monday evenings. Alex - I had a discussion with a friend who runs a game on here, he said that he has had some sexism in his games, I believe that most RPers are open minded and accepting, but I wanted to make sure that everyone knew from the outset where my feelings were. Zzan - thanks for all your advice so far, I planned to use Skype, did not know about Mith Weavers, will check it out. Happy for people to have hard copies of character sheets, so long as I have access to a copy in case of confusion. I must admit I really like Macros, but we can look into changing the way we type out rolls if they get in the way too much.
I now have 5-6 players showing strong interest, so I am closing applications for now. If any slots open up I will open this up again. Thanks all.
ok thax for responding. i didn't try and get to you via skype as i have been at work till now, can't use it there.: 1: i didn't go against all macros. i use them myself. it is jsut that there are more then one way to show the dice and the one with big dice in chat tend to take a lot of space so if 5 people roll their turn you need to scroll really high up to see what the gm wrote about the room. 2: there isn't that much antiganitisem in roll20. but there are different kind of gaming groups. some like theirs bloody and scary. some like it a bit less graffic. i made a mistake once and didn't bother asking about how graffic the players liked it and one allmost bailed on me. as for myself. im ok with most things, as long as it's not overy exposed. as Terry Pritchat put it . is like the difference between erotic and fetish. in one you use a feather in the other the whole chicken.
Ben, If you have any more slots open, Im available almost every thursday night starting at 8pm GMT+1
This sounded like just the kind of game i was after so if a slot does open up/you start another game please let me know!
Game runs Monday 7pm-11pm (UK time) Currently the game is full (5 players), with three people in the queue. I have no expectations of people dropping, but if it happens I will contact people in the order of request. Thanks.
