Currently I'm participating in a 4e Darksun campaign as the aspiring leader of a fledgling mercenary company (Newly acquired as me and the surviving party members struck it big in the Canyon of Gothay and survived our dealings in Tyr). I generally lean towards very strong characters that aren't afraid to take initiative, business like approach towards their companions and can be a bit brash at times. Of course there is always the possibility of character development between party members and for my characters too genuinely open up. In our Darksun campaign I play a Tiefling weaponmaster and in my previous 3.5 excursions a half-elf and half-orc. So far the only classes that have really piqued my interest have been Fighters, Rangers and Sorcerers, though for the ranger and sorcerer I've leaned towards skirmishers. I find I enjoy being able to fully immerse myself in the world the campaign is held in whether it be having to keeping track of food, weapon care, physical health, training and the likes. Getting to know NPC's and see them grow as you progressively learn more about. As the title suggest I'm pretty new to D&D but I'm a quick learner and quite dedicated.
