Dutch (also english speaking) new D&D player LFG. Evenings (GMT+1), have 3.5 rulebooks

TL;DR new to D&D, basic understanding. Quick learner, motivated to put in the extra work. Living in the Netherlands (GMT+1/2 depending on DST) and LF any D&D group that plays in the evening (any day besides wednesday). Only books I have are D&D 3.0/3.5 rulebooks so I prefer those editions. I have never played a D&D campaign but did my homework best I could. Can't find IRL players so looking for a dedicated group here. I am willing to GM but since I have zero real experience I figure it'd be better for me to join a group as a player first. I need to learn stuff but by no means am I intending to 'leech' off of the work of others. I am willing to make an effort to make it work. Hi, first of all thanks for showing interest. About me and my history with D&D I'm a 29 year old bloke from the Netherlands that has taken an interest in D&D over the past year. Played one or two sessions with some friends, but they all want very different things from the game and geographical distance/family/work make it hard to play on a regular basis. In my area there's not many people playing so I thought I'd try Roll20. I've never played a 'real D&D campaign' in my life. I watched stuff, read rules, read a lot in general about D&D, and I think D&D would be the hobby for me that can bring everything that I feel I'm missing when playing online video games. What I am looking for in a group I am mostly interested in the social aspect of playing with other people, and having fun with our adventures. For this reason I do not (yet) have a clear preference on aspects such as seriousness, how strictly rules are followed, how seriously RP is taken, etc. I will try to adapt to the preferences of the group, and be as upfront as possible when things are developing in a way that is incompatible with what I want. I realize the effort DM'ing and setting up a group takes, and my attitude is that the DM is boss, meaning I will try to make an effort to contribute and adapt instead of arguing about details. I am a big fan of the D&D fantasy genre, and would prefer such a setting. But I am willing to consider other systems/settings as well. Mostly I'm just looking for a group of people that are laid back, just having fun together and helping eachother where necessary. I want to learn the ropes and hopefully get to know a bunch of people to play long term with. I am open to contributing in any way. I think I would enjoy both the player and DM role, but because of my lack of experience it probably makes more sense to start as a player. If I were to DM a group from the start, I'd need other experienced players to help me with the rules and some other aspects, until things go smoothly. In this case, patient players would be required :) Means of communication I'm open to both text-only, voice only, voice and video, whatever really. This will be the first time I play in a D&D group and it feels a bit awkward to start voice/video chatting with a bunch of stranger in a game I've never really played before, but I'm sure it could work. I used to run a World of Warcraft guild where we were very active on voice chat, and I've met most of those people in real life. I'd probably need to invest in new headphones since my current ones are falling apart :) Restrictions At this age, unfortunately time has become more precious and I already have plenty responsibilities in real life, with a young child and a job and such. Real life always comes first for me. Having said that, my wife knows realizes a D&D group requires just as much commitment as any other team-sport or group activity on a regular basis. My personal preference is to play one evening a week, for about 3-4 hours. Once every other week, or twice a week would be acceptable. All days work, except wednesday, because on wednesday I have the sole responsibility over our child and thus cannot commit to a long gaming session. Saturday evenings do not have my preference either, since it is typically a time when a lot of social activities with friends/family take place, and thus the chance I have to cancel sometimes is a lot bigger on that day. On the mentioned days, I am available from 7 to 12 in the evening (GMT+1), preferably playing somewhere from 8pm - 11pm. That's pretty much it. I cannot guarantee that I will never cancel a scheduled game, or that I fit in your group, but I do guarantee I will make an effort on both attendance and flexibility to make it work and create a group where everyone can have fun. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Anyone? :-)

Yes. I'm working on a private message to write back to you. We might have a match, the biggest catch is my game is AD&D 2nd Edition, and decidedly NOT 3.0/3.5. However as a quick and interested learner, it might work for you. Other details of your bio look good for our group.
Hi Gold, thanks for the reply. I have no objections against playing AD&D 2nd ed, so I'm looking forward to hearing more from you. Meanwhile I've started reading up on 2nd edition.
