New Player looking for midweek Savage Worlds or DCC game

Hello, I just started playing around with Roll 20 and would love to get into a midweek game of either Savage Worlds or DCC. I'm in the Mountain time zone. I would be available Tuesday-Thursday after 5:30pm. Even something every other week would work. Beldar
Looks like I might need to run something. If I where to run, it would be a Savage Worlds Learn to play session or two.
You wouldn't happen to be part of Rocky Mountain Savages ? I am trying to learn the SW mechanics so that I can bridge the game to my kids (three eleven year olds). We dabbled in the 4e Gamma World but I think the fighting takes a little too long for them. I would be interested in a Learn to play session or two. Long term becomes a little hit an miss and twice a month might be in reach.
I'm the founder of the group. I'm the Savage Mommy.
Ah, then it is very nice to virtually meet you. I tried to make the Enchanted Grounds game this weekend but missed the start time. The calendar for the store still has the 10 AM start time instead of the new 9 AM. I just joined the RMS forums but have not made any posts but will add an introduction today. Have you had any luck drumming up a interest in the game?
If you plan to run a non fantasy savage worlds game i may be very intrested. I can do thurdays at 6pm mst
HI all, I'd be interested in a Savage Worlds game too. Either as a player or GM. Although, but I'm a bit rusty as a GM (haven't run it in quite awhile). I've run the IKRPG via Roll20 and Google+ Hangout and it works well. I suspect SW would work even better with the overall simpler approach than IKRPG. I'm on the East Coast and could possibly do Tuesday or Thursday evenings. If GMing I'd probably run every other week, maybe as someone gets the itch to run something we do game the other alternating weeks. I have the test drive adventure, The Wild Hunt (modern horror), already set up in Roll20 if we want to do a one shot to test out the interface see if people like it and want to continue in another setting. What do you think?
It looks like a trend to Thursday (Savage Mommy & Soupboy MST and Rudedd EST, not sure which time zone chris f is in.). I thought it funny that it took me a bit to figure out that there are two different Chris Fs in the thread. I have no setting preference for this. Trying to learn the Savage World system to bridge the game to my kids. I've read the SW Deluxe (EE) and am going through it again. For what its worth the dice mechanic for exploding and wild http://happyjacks.proboards.com/thread/864/rolling-savagely-roll20 credit to: JP and Houndin /roll {1d8!, 1d6!}k1 Skill | Wild I did work the card deck and the turn tracker. Its a little weird but you drag the card to the zero in the turn tracker and it will show the card and suit. From there it is a manual sorting.
Rudedd said: HI all, I'd be interested in a Savage Worlds game too. Either as a player or GM. I'm in Denver. If Rudedd wants to take the first shot at running, I'm up for that. I have run The Wild Hunt, but I can keep my knowledge from the other players. Let's try to get a one shot planned and can decide after that if we would like to continue.
Unfortunately, I will be travelling the next two Thursdays (6th & 13th). I have an interview next Friday in Washington DC which literally just got confirmed today. The following week I will be visiting family. Is Tuesday the 4th a possibility, say 7pm mountain time (9pm East Coast)?
Best of luck to you on the upcoming interview, it is always an exciting time. 6/4/2013 is off the table for me, celebrating my son's Gotcha Day (anniversary of adoption party). If the game does happen it isn't an issue from my side. We can keep me in the mix for other sessions if things go well.
I hope the interview went well and family is fine. Just bubbling this up to see if there is still some interest.
Hi SS, thanks the interview did go well. Things have been a bit hectic since then with some medical things happening. I'm still interested in running the one-shot, but can't really commit beyond that as a GM. I think Thursday's were a good day. Wednesday's are my only really bad day, most others are workable. So is there still interest?
Was anything decided about a Savage World game? Day, time, genre?
I was planning to run The Wild Hunt as a One Shot. Date and time still TBD. I could do next Monday or Tuesday evening. Unfortunately Thursday is the 4th, so that is out. I might be able to do Friday the 5th. Starting around 8:30-9:00pm Eastern time.
I agree the 4th is off and I am unable to make the 5th - our new son's first overnight is that weekend.. A Monday (7/1/13) or Tuesday (7/2/13) works well for me. 9 EST / 8 CST / 7 MST / 6 PST Chris F. (Savage Mommy) and I are in Mountain. Evening time works for me.
I still have interest, but I'm swamped right now with some things. I'm the volunteer coordinator for the Colorado Irish Festival. I need to get done with that, it is the weekend of July12th. After that things might open up more. Chris
Well, I'd definitely like you to be able to play Chris. How about the Tuesday after the festival, that would be 16th I believe. Will allow me to get re-acquainted with the adventure and tweak the Roll20 set-up a bit. Plus we have time to get some more people to join in. There are up to six spots. How does that sound?
I'm game for a 7/16/13 session.
Hey Chris, I'll talk to you more about it on Friday I guess if I "see" you there, but I'd be interested in spectating in any of your savage world games, if possible.
Hi All, Just bubbling up the thread. I know Chris was tied up over the weekend with the festival. I hope the weather didn't dampen the event. Are we still in play or have schedules become crowded?
Well, only you confirmed availability for tomorrow Soupboy, so I haven't really spooled up for it. I guess we need to determine who is in and when they can play. I was going to run a one shot of the demo adventure, so we'll have to see if someone wants to pick things up after that. In terms of when I can run, my vacation plans are starting to take shape so, I'm out of pocket the last weekend of July and the third weekend of August. I can run in the evenings 8:30pm or later Eastern time. Wednesdays are bad Tuesdays and Thursdays are probably best, other days negotiable with enough warning.
I have gotten into a Friday night game, so I don't really know if I have time for another game. I could probably do a one shot here and there.
Congratz Chris F. good to hear you got into a game. Seems like those who have posted here have moved on in general. I'd be willing to run a one shot, but doesn't seem to be a lot of interest.
I am definitely interested in having a shot a playing Savage Worlds. What's your opinion on next steps towards getting the game moving? Do you think abandoning this thread and advertising a new game might be they way to pick up other players?
That would probably be the best approach as they have to read pretty far down to get to the details. With Chris out it looks like it's you and me to start with and anyone else we can pick up. I'd be glad to run a game and we'll see where it goes from there....
I will work on getting the listing up, I just need a few things before I submit it. I would like to assumptive sell the Thursday and we can adjust after if the interests drive to a different day. With your vacation in the 3rd week of August, should we set a date for Aug 8, 15, or 29? Start time will be set for your convenience - 9PM EST. We can call it a single shot in the title to avoid churn on the on going game. Also call it modern horror setting or should we mention the Wild Hunt by name? Will you be running in Roll20 and Google+ Hangouts?
Dang... Do you have a number of players cap? 3 - 6?
Tuesdays and Thursdays work best for me. I can do the 22nd or 29th (I am not available the weekend of the 23rd, but Thursday works). That should give us time to secure players (max is 6, 4 ideal). 9PM EST works well for a start time. I would suggest using both "One Shot" and "The Wild Hunt" in the title. Yes, I'll be using Google+ Hangouts with Roll20 running as an app in the hangout.
LFG posting
Thanks for doing that. I have a player who may join us from outside Roll20. Just sent him an email inviting him to join us.
The game isn't being made available through the search functionality. In the campaign on the left side there is a link ( Looking for Players (List in LFG ) that will get it shared in the Search LFG results.
We are not seeing a lot of action in the current roll20 thread. Should we extend the invite to something like Reddit LFG ?
I just updated the campaign to be listed in LFG section. I'd say go ahead and share it on other locations, Reddit, Google+ Savage Worlds Community, or any others you can think of.
I have it in Reddit forum - Roll20LFG
