Newbie DM LF GM-based chat space / help in planning

Hello! I'm Ottolla, and new to both Roll20 and also tabletop gaming in general. (I've played a grand total of 7hours of DnD) I really want to be a DM, and am currently setting up a sort of homebrew campaign for some people irl, but I also want to set it up on here, both to test it out and because I'm really eager and wouldn't mind playing it through multiple times as a one/twoshot. I'm not really looking for a group of players just yet, because I have barely any of my campaign completed just yet. Instead, I'm looking for like, a teamspeak hangout, or a skype one, or something of the like? Where DMs get together and chat about what they're doing in their games, and could help give me advice in making a game for myself, both online and off. Because reading the rules by yourself is all well and good, but not at all fun. (And I don't tend to learn a lot when I can't ask questions.) Google can only do so much. I've watch a few videos, and fully intend to watch more, but I'd really like a group of some kind I can drop in on whenever I wish. (For advice, chatting, whatever. I'm currently really into tabletop gaming right now, and it's pretty much all I can talk about. A huge bummer when every one of your friends is going to be players, so talking to them is too big into spoilers.) Is there anything like it on here?

Heya! My skype is Ferelonshaderoot. Message me when you can!
That sounds like a pretty good idea. I'd be interested in joining in, both to help out, and to receive a bit of advice. I've been GMing various systems for nearly 20 years, but I'm not too cluey on 5th edition yet.
Yes! Two new buddies in the span of a day. And if they don't have a DM-type hangout group, we can always make one ourselves, no? I've been DMing for none, and have the barest basic tiniest grasp on DnD 3.5. (I've also watched a single youtube video of 4. No 5 stuff, tho.) My skype name is Literary Gamer, if you want to add me. (Also, sorry about the slow response time.)
I find that I only really learn by doing. Why not start up a Roll20 game and just mess around with monsters for a bit? No grand old story, no fancy maps, just mucking about with the rules.
I'll just throw this out here to any GM. If you're looking for a place to talk shop or get some advice, all that kinda stuff. Use the LFG tool and Search for GM Academy. We have a "coffee-hour" on monday nights (10PM est) specifically for helping people out with their campaign ideas etc. So yeah, hope that helps.
I've already been mucking about in the creator, trying to make my epic-seeming campaign, but it's a bit slow going. My biggest problem is I don't know much about dnd, or tabletop games at all really, not just that I don't know the Roll20 mechanics. (Though I don't really know them either.) I hadn't yet found a forum that responded much to me, so any questions I may have / had were never answered. Though the messing about in the creator is pretty fun as is. But oh, that GM Academy seems like exactly what I'm looking for (especially if people are on more often than just Monday nights, as my work schedule is pretty random). But, that sounds great.
well, clearly I'm on now :). We have a TS that runs 24/7. There's usually a few of us floating around at random times.

:D Ahhhh, yessssss. *^* And a Teamspeak! Exactly what I was hoping for~<3
This seems like a cool idea. i end up always only meeting players. Or sometimes when I actually get to play a GM that is running it, but that's it. I'm in the US, EST. But i am often awake late at night working on the campaign, or writing on other projects. I have run all D&D, currently running One Ring by cubicle 7, narrative style game via roll20, and playing in a Traveller Mongoose hosted in Australia via roll20.
