Default Map Starting Location

Is there a way to change the default viewing area of a map upon loading? Perhaps a function that performs a one time automatic shift ping on a token upon entering a map? I checked the forums and the only similar question I found was dated 2 years ago, hoping the function may have been added since then.

However, last I heard it would only pull the GM (which is useful for other things...). Brian, you have any experience with that?

The nearest Suggestion post I've seen for this is, Center map on player token when map is first loaded <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1339716/center-m" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1339716/center-m</a>... It's not the exact same idea, but if that suggestion was implemented, I can see ways to use it for this, like if the GM could place a certain token that is the Viewpoint Anchor, that the map will center to that certain token when the map opens.

Thanks for the quick responses. I can probably use a work around with the API ping function. At least that will bring me to the part of the map I want to be in (it's a large overland map) then I can shift ping the players over.

Hi Xentropy0, this would make a decent suggestion for a toggle on-off option. Sometimes players wouldn't want to be dragged to their token on log in, but that is niche case i would assume. GM's tend to just go with it, being omnipotent has the 'meh' effect on a bit of scrolling. Just wanted to make sure that it was mentioned that any API based solutions would require a mentor level subscription in case you weren't aware. Can't imagine GMing without it personally =D
