looking to run a skype game

the character build will be lvl 1 with 74 points to spend in stats and the point buy is 1-1 so if you want an 18 it will only cost you 18, it is set in a Game of Thrones type world so please no magic heavy, please let me know if you want any other infomation, also I am on CST the town is about 3 days from Kings Landing, each person will start the game as knowing each other as they will have grown up together in a town called Ravensdeep, it will start with everyone wanting to join the royal guard and only progress from that as the game and characters see fit, also just so you know this will be a seriously deadly game, as in Game of Thrones when stuff goes wrong for someone it tends to end up with a beheading, not to say don't step out of line or take risks just know that etiquitte wise it maynot always be a good idea. send me a character and I'll let you know, also this is being ran in Pathfinder if you need help just let me know
seems interesting. I assume humans only? Or can we play dwarves:P ? and yes you are allowed to ignore that bad joke. Anyway, you say no magic heavy, so obviously no wizards or sorcerors but what are the limits to that? Would Bard be considered going too far into the magic for the setting as you run it? What about divine spellcasters? We know the world has a few isolated cases of definite divine magic going on. I want to assume a no to Druids even if you want to consider the issue of wargs and other nature based magic going on in the north, the characters will have grown up down south in king's landing. If we go paladin how would you consider that? Essentially just a knight of piousness similar to Ser Bonnifer's Holy Hundred? Or do the Warrior Sons of the Faith Militant exist in your game setting? How would an alchemist work? something like one of the pyromancers or maesters? Sorry if I might be overloading you with questions, but I am deeply curious on these matters since this does seem to be trying to be more faithful to the feel of the series EDIT: I do have a few ideas going in my head for characters but would like to see your feedback on my queries before going further.
Are we talking 3.5 or Pathfinder? Also, if you want a game/rules system that fits the Game of Thrones world COMPLETELY, I suggest you check out Warhammer Fantasy RPG. But for the love of god do not go near their 4th edition, 3rd or prior is the best...
I was about to ask the same question as you myself since I am use to seeing the system being one of the first things mentioned, but he already confirmed pathfinder. It's in the very last sentence in his post
Aha! Sneakily attached at the last possible moment. Dang, I honestly thought I'd read the entire post, but I guess since I'm not a munchkin nor particularly reliant on combat as a means to an end in rpgs, I started to skim a bit once it delved into the need play one's character with some finesse. :)
I started to skim that portion as well lol. No offense to the GM but those sections with details about the depth of Roleplay tend to feel very generic to me and only require a few keywords through skimming it for me to understand the message. I'm definitely intrigued in a good interactive focused campaign like this sounds like, but I would love to hear more ASAP so I know whether or not to keep focus on this or just look elsewhere.
Agreed! I am relatively familiar with Westeros as I'm currently starting book 5. So the idea of playing in this world intrigues me. I'm wondering when a published rpg will come out, frankly I'm surprised it hasn't yet... Seriously, though, the former editions of Warhammer FRPG would frankly be PERFECT for this setting. There would be little or no modifications that would need to be made. The only problem, of course, is that characters in WFRPG tend to be of very low power and the notion of playing a "hero" character doesn't really exist.
I believe there is a Game of Thrones RPG game out already.
So it is! <a href="http://greenronin.com/sifrp/" rel="nofollow">http://greenronin.com/sifrp/</a>
I am currently full on the game, but sometime in the future a slot may open, we currently run on fridays 4 pm CST I might be willing to add one more but it won't be for another 2 weeks as the players are in the middle of something, I have explained to the group that players can use other classes but gain no main looks from that class, like an elf would be tall with pointy ears or things like that, I will allow a person to be a dwarf gaining the shortness but they would still be human more the dwarf, I am not allowing any magic unless it can be explained and done in real life, as this is set before the main storys timeline
