Foreword: Well, this has been a long while delayed, no? Bear with me, my memory may be dodgy on this one. (Thus, this one will be kept short) Vorcha Posse and Nific Takes Flight (Sessions 7-8) IN THIS SESSION(S): The Power of Charisma once more pulls through. The party manage to recruit a bunch of Vorcha into their ranks. Then proceed to turn said Vorcha against their allies. I get frustrated by Cross-Encounter Combat (The downsides of R20!) The party save a guy. Then piss off a Krogan, which is always good. Nific is not impressed by puny Krogan whelp. The party open a box, and regret opening said box. We get to test out ship combat! Despite Nific's worst fears, it's not that bad. I get a nasty surprise when I find that the pilot of the enemy ship is a useless maniac with no piloting skills. Ryo displays l33t sk1llz while piloting. I eventually decide to have the enemies give up. It really wasn't worth it. This, consequently, invokes the wrath of Harbinger. ATTENDING: Teyra - Forever charming Asari Adept. Nific - Irritatingly savant-ish conspiracy theorist. Oh, also a Krogan Soldier. Outcast - A sassy, obnoxious, and incredibly derpy Geth Soldier. I swear they're getting worse. Ryo'Vyator - Quarian Infiltrator. Great pilot. Better sniper. Terrible at anything he's actually trained to do. Of course, me, Bleak. The GM. And also, we were joined by my merciless brother, who was in control of the enemies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- God, it's been a while. If you read Session 6, you'll know that the group, who are quite short on members at the moment, are waiting to enter an old warehouse... apartment... building... thing, straight after killing a bunch of Vorcha, who were indeed Blood Pack. Oh, and Outcast had to have a hard-reboot after catching a grenade. A friendly grenade. So, not much to say about this encounter - once again, I have no pre-encounter screenshot, but the place consisted of three separate rooms, each filled with a silly amount of Vorcha. And one with some Varren. I actually expect them to walk in and start popping heads, but I find myself pleasantly surprised when it turns out that their immediate reaction is diplomacy - From Nific! Nific attempts his earlier failed tactic of persuading the Vorcha (Who, oddly, failed to hear the commotion outside...) that he's their new boss. Backed up by Teyra, they succeed so massively that the Vorcha, believing that the party has been hired to deal with traitors in the Blood Pack, doesn't even question the fact that Nific is the only person actually eligible for Blood Pack membership. So, with their current party of four, and about six or seven Vorcha in tow, they open the door in to the next room. Greeting them are five Vorcha and a pair of varren. Lovely. Diplomacy fails them this time, and the enemies charge. Luckily, their veritable and aptly-named posse of Vorcha are here to assist, now under the belief that these must be the traitors. The following fight is a general massacre, but contains highlights like idiot Vorcha, who decide it's a good idea to forget about the guns and just whack the enemy, and Ryo being pounced by a Varren. Turns ensue, people get shot, shields break, puppies die, and the party eventually make it out of this fight as alive as ever, the only friendly casualty being a single member of their new posse. Behind door number three? Take a wild guess. However, in another silly diplomatic victory, they convince the Vorcha that they're the good guys, not the guys they had been working with for god knows how long. Noooo. Now equipped with what can only be called a fireteam of Vorcha, the party attempt to travel to the next room, and argue with me about the intricacies of cross-encounter combat, which, in short, was not happening. Venturing on through the door without their posse, who are left to watch their backs, the party emerge into a small courtyard of sorts. Inside are... Wait. Yep, Vorcha. But this time, they are joined by a Krogan with an astonishingly high level of health. Behind him is a large, shiny box, which peaks the curiosity of the party, but in the hands of the new, angry looking Krogan, is what seems to be a civilian in incredibly bad shape (We're talking verge of death here). This guy, clearly the boss of the entire operation, isn't buying their act, and is getting angrier with each diplomacy check. Eventually, they manage to convince him to begrudgingly release his captive, but the problem arises when they 'politely' ask him to leave, at which point he explodes in anger and attacks the group. Initiative here holds true to most matches - Teyra rolls stupidly, stupidly high, Ryo shortly behind, Nific somewhere in the middle and Outcast... pathetically low. Our new friend rolls somewhere beneath Nific. The fight starts off with a few shotgun shells being thrown, with Teyra and Ryo handling the Vorcha lackeys, while the tanks, Outcast and Nific, manage to corner the Krogan and end up trapping him in a flanking maneuver. The Krogan attempts to use his nastiest attack on Nific - A unique charge, but ends up critically failing. Nific stands there as the enemy runs head-first at him, and he extends his palm, holding him away with no effort whatsoever, as the Krogan just kicks up dirt. Cue Outcast with shotgun to the butt. This fight goes down pretty well, and the boss does little more than deal a nasty critical to Nific and wounding his arm before he dies. The party are now left with a horde of friendly Vorcha, a gigantic locked box, and a badly injured human. Interesting perdicament. Session Transition GODDAMMIT ROLL20 I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DELETE THIS BLOODY POST ONE MORE DAMN TIME --! ALL RIGHT. THIS WILL BE INCREDIBLY BRIEF. UGH. The party manage to open the box, after some arguments about how hacking should actually work, and find a Husk inside. Yup. Nific decides on the (Honestly wise) course of action and tries to shoot the thing, but is stopped by Teyra, who locks it back in the box and decides it must be there for a reason.. Really? They return to their employer, get paid, and then some for rescuing one of their contacts. Somehow, the party convince the Blue Suns to employ their sudden surplus of Vorcha. I don't even know. Devoid of anything else to do, they leave to take out Limbsplitter Fruit Shipments (That totally legitimate fruit company). Nific objects but is dragged along anyway, eventually confessing it wasn't that bad. Turns out, the Limbsplitter's pilot is absolutely feckless and grants the ship the almighty armor class bonus of +1 (Compared to Ryo's +6). The fight does little else than to waste a lot of time, with the party barely sustaining a scratch. Eventually, I have the enemies surrender, the captain hands himself over, and the party get the Eclipse weapon shipment. This, consequently, skips three entire encounters, which my brother had, fair play, spent three hours making. What did this do? Make him create the next mission in an incredibly cruel fashion. Good luck, guys. Check out the next session to see how that goes, and see if they actually survive. -- Bleak
