Character Specific Authorization Lighting

Basic concept. As is stands you have the option to make a token with dynamic light attached to it "visible by all players" or "not visible by all players". Basically turning the lights on and off for everyone. I would like the ability to make the light visible to only some players, and not others. There are many reasons for this, but primarily I want the ability to set "low-light" for sixty feet on a player's token, visible only to them, which would basically give them low light vision, but the other players wouldn't be able to see what they see. Of course you could make it sixty feet of normal light for dark-vision..etc..etc...Maybe a wizard's detect magic would make that magical creature/token glow with light, but it would be visible only to them. You get the picture. (If this is already possible through some means I am unaware of, sorry for cluttering the boards.)

This can already be done (although it is a bit complicated). Any player assigned control of a token can see that light. Here is a link to a recent post I made on how to do low-light vision: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/174304/add-new-layers-or-making-tokens-only-visible-to-certain-players#post-178708 - Gauss
That is helpful, if a bit more complicated. This is a good work around and I will utilize it. Any chance we might see a specific "Allow" feature on light items in the future? (For simplification.)

My purpose is to help users with the tools currently available. I do not generally comment on suggestions or what is in the future since I am not a Dev. :) - Gauss
Well crap heh. I thought you ran the show. Not even joking. But I'm relatively new. Thanks for your help.

Nope, I am just a very busy Moderator. :) You can see who does what here: https://wiki.roll20.net/Acknowledgements - Gauss
Am I confused with the question here? Isn't the easiest way to set up a character with something like Darkvision simply to set the character token to emit light only visible to the player that the token is associated with (as in the Journal character list?) For that matter, if multiple players can control that named character (or token), those characters are the ones that could see what the token in question reveals/lights up.

Sheet Author
from what I understood, he was asking for lowlight vision and to do that all you have to do is put in your light range then your start of dimness. This would be like 60 / 1 (light range / start of dimness). That would put dim light out to around 60 ft while the token would have bright light on it and not much else. I tried the 60 / 0 but it never worked for me. Now if you are wanting it to be seen by a select group of people then you would have to assign them to the token or sheet if the sheet is assigned to the token. I hope I understood what the OP was asking originally.
Thanks guys, Gauss covered what I needed. I knew how to setup low-light vision, I just needed to know how to set it up so that only one person could see the light.
