Eternity Island Lookin' Fer' Players (DnD 3.5)

Your lives have all been officially ruined. Finding yourselves shackled and kept aboard a creaky transport to Eternity Island, Prison and your final resting place. The place was recently discovered, and few ships have crew experienced enough to navigate the monstrous life that swells in the area for unknown reasons. You must make your own new existence on Eternity Island, Discover the islands lost secrets, and survive. One day you may even escape. Eternity Island is an experimental 3.5 Campaign I am running. I have six slots in total for players that wish to be convicts, however if for some reason I end up with more than six people interested I may allow a seventh "Native Guide" character. Character Generation Special Rules: 1. Characters may be of any race and class that can be cited in a published Open Gaming License Book. No two players may cite the same book regarding a Class. The Class must be able to fit with a high fantasy theme. 2. Characters begin level three with only normal clothing on. None of the Characters past equipment can be taken with him to Eternity Island. 3. Every character has been given a life sentence to be served on Eternity Island. The Characters back-story should explain what crime was committed. Be very creative. Eternity Island is a weekly game on Thursdays at 5PM (-8GMT) on Roll20 About the GM: 1. I am not well versed with D20/3.5, I normally play other systems. 2. This setting is intended to be high fantasy, many questions about the setting can likely be answered by "A wizard did it"
Sounds interesting. I like a good prison setting game; reminds me of Elder Scrolls. Count me interested. Edit: Just noticed the time zone. Help me out here. 5pm GMT would be what Pacific Standard Time?
(-8GMT) is Western US (California, British Columbia, Part of Mexico), GMT is somehow difficult for a lot of people for some reason, but just google your own GMT timezone and subtract the difference of hours between -8 and your own. For instance if you are on the east US coast its a three hour difference.
This sounds fun. Mind if I hop in?
I would be interested in playing this campaign. I am available Thursday nights, on what day would we start? Also, I am new to this game, can you point me in the direction of some character creation resources?
@John Sure, send me a PM with your character and the name of the book your class is from. @Gage Probably not this week unless the game fills up by Wednesday, in which case then there is no reason not to do it this week. As for character generation resources its slightly difficult because I want you all to create characters with obscure classes. The best thing I could recommend to you is to find a copy of the 3.5 players handbook. Then you can try googling D20 Supplement plus whatever race you want to try, for instance I know for a fact there is a dwarf supplement with all sorts of neat special Dwarf classes.
In addition, those interested can apply to the LFP listing <a href="http://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/26865/eternity-island" rel="nofollow">http://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/26865/eternity-island</a>
Do you know of any online resource that lists what 3.5 material is OGL and what isn't? I've got a couple of character ideas, but I'm not sure if they qualify.
I would be interested in playing if you still have room.
Its impossible to fill out a list like that. OGL content are indie-made D20 supplements. Please do what I suggested to Gage and you will find something.
And sure Ravind apply to the LFP posting
I apparently do not have permission to apply on the LFP site...
Neither do I.
I filled up rather fast, But we will see if those chosen can cut the bill.
So what is the method of stat generation being used?
Haha. Never get in fast enough! Let me know if a spot opens up, sounds interesting!
Traditional statrolling, you get two re-rolls.
Applications are closed, but nobody that has applied has submitted a character sheet yet (Which is sort of what you are supposed to put in the application. Ughhh....) so here is the deal, I am almost 100% sure that of the six people I admitted only two to three of them will have a character by the time we play on Thursday. Those that have submitted a character in this thread are eligible to replace any of the players that drop out on Thursday for whatever reason. @Darcy L. I sent you a code to get in
I still have a plenty people that have not submitted a character and are eligible to be replaced. Anybody that wishes to submit a character in the thread is looking like they have a pretty good chance of getting in.
It seems some real life stuff has come up; I'm going to have to bow out of this campaign :( I'm sorry that I wasted your time. That wasn't my intention.
You never even registered with my campaign though.
Well, I'm here to offer as a second string if you need me.
Sure, PM me a character sheet Adam
Sent it
This sounds interesting I like to be creative with my character creation. Since you don't want to us to draw from the same book tell me what is already taken. Though my interests currently are with a Savage Species class, though they usually need some slight tweaks since SS came out during 3.0 and this is 3.5
So far Dragonmech, Thieves World, and Dragonlance are taken. Well, with your addition now Savage Species is taken. I have three spots left for players now.
One technical question re: character generation - I assume we are doing max hp for first level and then rolling for the next two?
Thats how 3.5 works, yeah.
