Folder Tutorial please

So, we have folders, good. How do I organize them? Created four character sheets in a new campaign for pregens, only three of them maximize or minimize on the tab when clicked the fourth is in a limbo but listed under characters, all my handouts are not under the handout tab, but if I duplicate they show up under handouts. Do I need to custom tag them? All four characters have the same tag, but only three show under the Character Tab. Does this update only affect new campaigns? Created a folder, I cannot drag and drop things into it. Cannot delete the folder.

Sidebar Art Library Journal Character Sheets Card Decks and Rollable Tables Jukebox Text Chat My Settings Thanks for the link, not seeing folder, maybe do a bullet FOLDER, to show off the work you guys did. And nowhere how to delete a folder once created. I'm not getting a drop down when right clicking a folder.

How do I organize them? See Wiki Docs link Steve posted. If you still have questions after trying that, ask again. It's easy once you get the hang of where to drag and where to drop the contents you want in folders. Do I need to custom tag them? No. You can drag and drop them into whatever folders you want to create. Does this update only affect new campaigns? It is for all campaigns, old and new. Created a folder, I cannot drag and drop things into it. Cannot delete the folder. The drag and drop is in a specific place/pattern. You get used to it once you do it once or twice. Hopefully the wiki docs link will make it clear. If not ask again. Delete is also covered on the wiki.

I have raised this with the Roll20 Mod Team and we will work on making the word "Folder" (also: "Handouts") clear on the Main Page of the Wiki docs index. I proposed changing the Journal link to simply say Journal: Characters, Handouts, Folders .

I'm getting no drop down menu options when clicking anything. It just selects. And no drag and drop of assets to various folders.

On Drag-and-drop you might just be unaccustomed to where you "grab" to drag, and where you point to drop. It's kind of specific. It confused me the first time too. Grab the handles on the left for drag.... Point under a folder, and shift a little bit towards the right, to drop. It kind-of highlights and shows you a little box when you're in the right spot to drop. You might have a Bug / Technical Issue, but please try again with this instruction in mind. I believe there is an animated GIF graphic from Vince or The Aaron that shows how to drag and drop. It's in another forum thread and I will find it for you if it's still not working.

Drag and drop of assets between folders, characters created as characters, journals created as journals. Sorry you answer so fast you miss my edits. Lemme try duplicating the campaign to a new one.

Here is a graphic showing how to drag-and-drop assets between folders. See if this helps? <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Journal#Reorganizing_Journ" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Journal#Reorganizing_Journ</a>...

You have to right click on the folder name, if you right click on the expand/contract knob, you get the browser menu.

Jahn Y. said: Nope. That's not working. Ok. You might have a Bug / Technical issue then. By the way I'll try to help and respond to you but I will be going away-from-keyboard soon, so my next reply won't come as quickly. I will mark this thread to check again later, also someone else may come and respond. So... obviously you're logged in as GM, that would be required for this. On a computer using a mouse, right, not some kind of touch-screen issue? You see the handles on the left (3 little grey bars looks like a window-shade)? Can you drag but just can't find the spot to Drop? Or can't drag? Or can't see the handles? See Aaron's answer for possible solution to the Right-Click!

Yes, like a website tablet or phone friendly condensed menu bar drop down, I've tried the front the back the middle of the selectable item. I'm on a desktop. And right click has never done anything for me other than firefox commands.

Lets move this to the Bugs forum and start the process: Can you please follow Steps 1-3 of our Solving Technical Issues wiki page, taking special care to temporarily disable all browser add-ons and extensions, temporarily pause your anti-virus, and try switching browsers (for Chrome/Firefox specific issues) to see if one of those components is causing the problem. If all of that fails, please follow Step 4 , including providing all of the necessary information, so that we can further assist you.

I don't think Journal is a good explaination of folders, should be a subsection.

Sure, Gold is already bringing that up and the Moderation team will write some better documentation.

Ok, now next issue. Bounding box. Left click the three bars you can move it in the journal, but NOT the playfield, left click the name you can move to play field. Right click the bars you get browser, right click the name you get options. BTW first time Right click has worked for me within roll20, in journal.. So winning severely for me and my players. Thanks to the team.

So, does that mean your right click is working now?
1428966981

Edited 1428967461
Yes sir, I get a blue box, and it's moving where I move the object. Also, I'd like to say a right click on the three bars, back to browser is a gonna be a issue. Why not left click move any and everything, right click you get options?

That should be the way it is?: Left Click ≡ and hold, drag to sort or move items between folders. Left Click Name and hold, drag to VTT to place token. Right Click Name , select menu item

Right Click Name , select menu item Super, but why right click stripes equals browser? That sucked last week. Now that my game is working, why right click browser in that real estate, got top and bottom bars for that.

I don't believe it's intentional, merely the default behavior for the browser.

No problem!
You understand the tutorial is gonna be involved.... Left clicking ANYWHERE on the tab of the journal OR character will show you the attached items. HOWEVER, right clicking on the BARS will get you YOUR browser menu and right clicking the NAME will get you options of Duplicate and Delete. You cannot drag an object FROM the journal to the play field using the bars, but you can from the name.

Indeed. If you felt like adding the salient points to the wiki, that would be an awesome help. Either way, it will get in the queue of things that need to be documented better.
