Microphone push-to-talk?

Is there any way to make the microphone optionally push-to-talk? My companions can hear my background sound unless I tune the mic very low and then they don't hear my voice very well.
I Second this strongly, push to talk is a must!!! Please suggest this to Tokbok. I got kids that like to scream and nobody needs to hear that :)
where is the vote for yes at this is indeed a must
Voted! PTT should be a no-brainer but for some reason none of these VOIP services know what that is!
This is a must, I vote a big YES!
This must happen
Yes, it should be implemented.
there's a couple ways around this. First, if you have a microphone with a mute button on it, you can use that. Sort of opposite of PTT. Second, you can use the tokbox icon for yourself to adjust your volume and or mute yourself that way. Same idea. This works with Google Hangouts too - you can mute yourself using the in-browser controls.
There are other ways to do it, but PTT would but the easiest.
Yeah, push to talk would be really nice.
Push to talk is needed. Pretty basic function for most chat programs now
Aye aye! Absolutely necessary. It cuts idle chatter, obliterates echoes, and makes the gaming experience so much smoother! Even the WotC VTT has PTT!

Unfortunately we have very little control over how TokBox handles vchat (it's a third party component). We're looking for alternative services (WebRTC being the primary goal), but it's the only free solution we have presently.
Hmmm Maybe we should go here <a href="http://www.tokbox.com/forums/suggestions" rel="nofollow">http://www.tokbox.com/forums/suggestions</a>
