Too long - skip to Option 4 Long story short, I have limited rpg experience and haven't played one since I was a youngster. Even then it was highly limited. Recently, I came across Dragon Age via Tabletop and then later watched TheInvictusStream. It gave me the itch to join up. I've become a little familiar with the AGE/DA stuff over the past few weeks and I'd love to give it a shot, but don't have any friends that play. Instead, I'm hoping I can connect with someone online and join in the fun. I've spent a decent amount of time reading forums, through the guides, etc to try to educate myself on DA despite a strong lack of knowledge of the history, land, and scenarios (I've heard Qun might be a good place for me). Full disclosure: I have a job and obligations, so I know my availability will suck. Basically, if my wife is working, I'll be available and would love to hang out. My vision: I think the easiest thing would be for me to just be the tool of some open minded GM. If you have an online game and want to bring in a new NPC or have someone influence the group in a certain way, we could work together to have me jump into the group storyline. I'd love to go through the character creation process, but could take on somebody you already crafted. Still not sold? Think about how unbiased I would be toward the rest of the group. I don't have a background with them, so I would not be impacted by their previous decisions. I would just react in real time. Before you ask, I have no problem being level 1 with a bunch of level 10's! Apprenticeship would actually be a pretty sweet storyline, no? I could have a simple background story as a young boy the group rescues and then boom, we're off! Option 2: I could hold down the fort for someone that couldn't make it to a game without forcing the GM to control their character. Option 3: I could be there for 1 on 1 with the GM to spice up their character's flashback or background story by acting it out with their character back in level 1 status. Option 4: APPRENTICESHIP! Seriously, how easy would it be if I join in as an apprentice in your already going game as a young upstart. Even better, how about a young boy or indentured servant you have in your group? What about a mountain man recluse that joins to help your part a la Pocahontas style as a master tracker? So, what do you say? Why not spice up your group?! Write me in as a new way to keep your group fresh! Ask your GM! Tell your group about me! Come on, people. Let's make this thing happen! This game looks way too cool for me to be lurking on the message boards. Lastly ----if this isn't the right place to find others, join a game, or whatever then by all means point me in the right direction. I'm in apprentice mode, people!
