Attack/Damage API functions. + the API button functions.

Recently I was wondering what had happened to the API button function? I saw it show cased a little recently and I had thought the API people would jump on it. For example I thought through the use of API buttons in chat, you could call for things such as Dex saving throws, or Damage rolls if an attack hit. When I refer to API buttons. I refer to this basically. <a href="http://i.imgur.com/Moqcz4t.gif" rel="nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/Moqcz4t.gif</a>

I've seen some scripts that take advantage of the API Roll buttons. However, as cool as API buttons are, they're currently a solution in search for a problem as far as the campaign I GM goes. I did make one macro for it, though! [Ready Check](!power --name|%%who%% is ready! --corners|0) It required a new update to Powercards 2.x, but it does fulfill a desire I had. I haven't as yet found any other needs/desires that roll buttons will fix for me/my campaign.
I use the API buttons a bunch in my scripts. As for the scripts I've shared, only CGen makes use of them. I do use them for my inventory system as well as for my blaster script. My inventory script uses them for controlling buying/selling/taking/dropping items as well as confirming sales/purchases; where my blaster script uses it for marker selection, save seletion, ongoing damage etc. Neither of those however are 'idiot proof' and I'm not a fan of people piling on for perceived flaws.
Ah okay then. Yeah I saw your blaster script and thought it might save me some issues etc. I wouldn't mind trying your blaster script since it fullfilled some issues I have had from using another players script. Also thats too bad. I mean do you use any scripts to fullfill anything in 5E? Currently my only wish is for simplicity of things like direct damaging things etc or at least a bit quicker automation of attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving rolls. Perhaps via an API button which is just *Click here to roll Dex save*. It was my hope to see things like this happen now though the API is so intermittent for me now its actually not really an option. I have to reset it every 5 minutes to keep it up. It would be nice to see some API Dev response as to why. The only scripts I really wanted working was the direct damage/healing scripts by Jacob. Meh..

Stephen uses them extensively in his scripts and I've started rolling them out for configuration in mine, as well as conflict resolution on choices (your input matches more than one handout kind of thing). I'm sure you'll start seeing a lot more of them. Certainly I have some ideas about their use. =D

It's still in the oven baking along with my inventory script. I only release scripts I'm confident will be relatively bug free. I do like to contribute scripts as I do a bunch of FLOSS contributions, but there's a... different atmosphere on Freenode comparatively. Stephen does a bunch of great stuff with API buttons, and so does The Aaron. So API scripts using buttons will come down the line. I'll eventually release my scripts when I get around to idiot proofing them.
