Is there a chatroom?

Is there a chatroom I can take questions? This forum is very ... unique ... so it's hard to navigate imho. Do you guys have an IRC channel or something?

Once upon a time there was a general chatroom. It was closed because there were too many users and nowhere near-enough moderators. When in doubt, put your question in the Specific Questions forum. Our helpful mods will move a topic if needed.

The best reason i got when i asked this exact question some months ago was that by keeping things in the forum, it keeps things documented and searchable. As Pat says (other than account based stuff) you can post a question in the appropriate forum and in most cases receive an answer within the hour :)
