Escape from Bok Tthrasshk (Pathfinder)

Looking for Players: You are a slave, imprisoned and forced to do hard labor in the subterranean goblin colony of Bok Tthrasshk. Locked in a cell alone at night, chained and supervised during the days. Your goal: escape - how do you plan to do that? Looking for a group of 5 players (and possibly a couple subs). Each will start off doing solo sessions until you manage to make contact with each other. Level 1 characters (core races and classes, please) with no starting equipment at all except holy symbols and, during work hours, light picks. 20 point stat buy (<a href="http://tools.digitalightbulb.com/pbcalc.html" rel="nofollow">http://tools.digitalightbulb.com/pbcalc.html</a>). 20+ year old players only, please. I have a preference for character sheets made in Google Docs. Some excellent templates can be found here: <a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/community-creations/shoelessinsights-lab/online-character-sheets" rel="nofollow">http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/community-creations/shoelessinsights-lab/online-character-sheets</a> This campaign will get started slowly with one or two player sessions, possibly even doing some play by post until we get everyone together and are going full steam. I will be looking for players to look for clever approaches to escape. Heavy combat will be an option, but not the only option, and definitely not always the best option. I have some possibilities planned, but am open to creative ideas from players. Playtimes: I live in Mountain Time Zone (North America) and will be looking to play evenings, weekly once the group is together. Acceptance to the group will be more likely if you're schedule is compatible with mine and other players. Longterm: I am presently working on my own custom campaign world. After escaping there will eventually be more to do, but right now I have only this introductory campaign worked out. I like sandbox/open-ended style DM'ing, but am relatively inexperienced as a GM, so it will be a learning process for me. The game itself can be found here: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/join/33162/O_qtkw" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/join/33162/O_qtkw</a> Update: the primary pantheon of my custom world has been posted in the game under player handouts.
Depending on what day is chosen to get together, me and my roommate would like to join your game. Sunday would be perfect, Saturdays would work as well but his schedule varies from month to month so that might cause him to miss a session here or there if we were to play on Saturdays. We are both 29 and we live in Florida so we are on east coast time. Pretty much any reasonable start time would be fine. I have only played 4e and Pathfinder but I know both systems well enough to get by with more or less no problems. He has experience with 3.5 and 4e, among other things I believe.
Galen, go ahead and throw some characters together and send me some links. Those times sound good to me. What do you guys think of shorter one on one or one on two sessions until the characters are able to all meet up?
I think that as long as it's not an excessive amount of time that it should be fine. As for character creation, aside from sticking to core classes and races, is everything else from the SRD more or less fair game? Do you want us to come up with a back story for you to work off of? If there is anything else you can think of let me know and I'll throw something together and get back to you. My friend is not due back until Wednesday but once he is back I'll help him put something together at that time and send it your way. You also mentioned a preference for templates, I've been using a fillable PDF and hosting it on my mediafire site. So if that's okay with you that's how I'll send you my sheet.
Anything else from the SRD is fine, as long as it's Paizo based and not 3rd party. Yes, a back story would be nice. And a PDF is fine; the online spreadsheet is my preference but not mandatory. And time spent on individual sessions won't be excessive as I'll need to schedule them with 5 players, so whatever you're doing, I'll be doing 5x as much. ***EDIT*** to clarify time wise, I'm looking to fit in group sessions weekly, and they'll start once the whole group is going. The frequency of the smaller sessions will depend what others can do. I'm not suggesting you have to be available once a day or anything. they can even be play by post as you can launch the game alone and post text and rolls and I can go back and review chat history.
Awesome on the first three and a bit of elaboration on the last. I don't mean excessive time as in the time spent on each individual session. I was more talking about like one Sunday is dedicated to/reserved for one person and we don't end up actually playing as a whole group for 3 or 4 weeks. That said I'll probably wait til tomorrow before I started working something up and I'll get back to you. I'm thinking Barbarian but I'm not 100% sure on it yet.
Huh, would goblin be an acceptable race for this campaign? I know you said only core classes (base classes off limits?) and races but I thought I'd ask since goblin seems like a thematically fitting race.
No, I'd honestly rather not have players play goblins. As far as the story line goes, these goblins would rather kill an enemy goblin than enslave it.
if its played on saturday im interested. any time sat works for me. and im on the east coast too. thinking of making a half elf monk
Zachary, do you have a preference between Saturday or Sunday?
i can play sunday as well but would prefer a earlier play time then since i wake up at 5am for work
My schedule changes from week to week. This Sunday, I have the day off. I work Saturday, but am home in time to be able to launch a game by 4:00 pm Mountain Time, as with any weekday. Some weeks I work both Saturday and Sunday and have a weekday or two off. So I'm aiming for weekends since that seems to work better for others, but that means I can't guarantee starting before 4:00 pm Mountain.
4pm is fine for me
Alright, well I can play pretty much any night except monday and thursday. Since monk is taken I'd be interested in either a rogue or sorcerer.
This game sounds like a lot of fun and I'd love to play. I'm free most days except for Sunday afternoon (when you're busy too, right Blaeringr?) and one night during the week when I run Battletech for the guys at the office.
Speaking of which, Nathan, are we going to keep doing future sessions that early on Sundays? That was about 10:00 AM my time, which worked for me yesterday, and will work next Sunday, but as I posted in your other thread, probably not after that. So I should clear up with you: are you keeping the same time, or starting a second group like you hinted at maybe doing? If not, I'm ultimately going to have to drop from your group. We should probably straighten this out in a PM, then I can set a more precise time for this game here.
I'd really like to get in on this game as well if there is still room. I was hoping to make a human sorceress since I haven't had a chance to play one yet. Any day works for me except after 7pm on Sundays (PST time). I am pretty familiar with pathfinder rules but have only been playing for about a year and have never played online. Should I work on making a character then?
As it stands right now Jen I think you would make 6 players. I don't think a time has been nailed down yet though as it sounds like a couple people have slightly different availability.
also i dont think we have any healing of any kind
I've got a couple classes in mind but I'll wait to see what everyone else decides on before I commit. I am leaning towards Barbarian or Ranger though. My friend said he would want to play a ranged striker or a two-hand weapon Paladin.
Barbarian and monk are all I've had confirmed so far as what people are planning, but no actual character sheets yet. As far as time, I'd like to have anyone interested post in the game thread itself whether Saturday and/or Sunday after 4:00 works, and which weekday evenings would work while we're getting the single player portion out of the way. So please, which of those times work for you and character concept in one post. Please edit that post and add a character sheet when you have it ready. And as far as healer, I've gotten a PM so far asking about the details of deities for my custom campaign, which I have since posted in the first post of this thread.
Blaeringr, I'm only running my module for a few sessions to playtest it. If the group moves along quickly next game (and we have voice chat finally) I think we might be able to wrap it up.
i could do it on sundays after 4 only thing is that ive never played before if your ok with that than i would be ok to do it.
It looks like you may still have seats left for this game. I'd like to join if it's possible. I'm in VA, and I'd be available Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and pretty much all day Sunday. I'll start rolling something up, and post it for your approval.
Gordon, that's fine if you're new. Several people have expressed interest, but as I don't know who can play when or what they want to play, I can't say that we have a set group yet.
Ah, wait, question. Have we always been enslaved, or is that a recent thing? Or is that up to us?
<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/view/?9vdgfm9369c7a2k" rel="nofollow">http://www.mediafire.com/view/?9vdgfm9369c7a2k</a> -- I present to you... Manglurr, the Half-Orc Barbarian. I'll more than likely stick with him. If I change my mind I'll give you plenty of notice. Sunday is the preference for me and my friend. Saturday will work too but he might miss a session or two here and there because of work. Any time is fine.
My rogue. He may need a few tweaks (and a name), but he is essentially finished. The question of whether he was born in captivity or was recently captured is still relevant, but should only change one or two things.
Bradson, that's up to you.
i'll roll up a monk and back story today and post it. First time actually making a pathfinder character instead of using a premade so should be interesting
If anyone needs any help making a character I've got a bit of experience with Pathfinder and I am more than willing to help. It's not a whole ton of experience with the system but it's more than enough to get the job done.
Ok rolled this monk, think it should be ok
Here is the link to my sorceress, I will be adding a back story on the front page when I think of one. I have it set so only I can edit it, if you think there are errors let me know and I'll check it out! <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ai1WT9_tTmmfdGhqWGpfaktPSzJBWGkxX29NWmFtdWc" rel="nofollow">https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ai1WT9_tTmmfdGhqWGpfaktPSzJBWGkxX29NWmFtdWc</a>
between this thread and the game's main page discussions, we presently have 4 characters accounted for: 1 rogue (Bradson) 1 monk (Bryan) 1 barb (Galen) 1 sorc (Jen) Pretty much looking for one more, and any others may be considered as subs
My friend will be home tomorrow and it shouldn't take long to get a character made up and posted here.
oh ill put up a google doc of my character aswell...didnt realize there were multiple tabs at the bottom...thought the sheet was just really incomplete >.<
Ok, so I'm going to finalize the party as such: Jen S. - human sorc bryan p. - half-elf monk Galen M. - half-orc barb (Galen's roommate) - tba Bradson G. - human rogue DSSCRA - dwarf monk
Hmmm, that's a lot of melee characters. I'm gonna see what kind of ranged character I can build to try and balance out the party.
If you're on that list, please join the game and please post further info about characters there.
When I click on that link it gives me the error of "Not Authorized (Incorrect Campaign ID or Access Token)".
Oh, let me fix that
ok, try now: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/join/33162/O_qtkw" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/join/33162/O_qtkw</a>
Still a no go.
... ok, try this: <a href="http://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/483/escape-from-bok-tthrasshk#applymodal" rel="nofollow">http://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/483/escape-from-bok-tthrasshk#applymodal</a> Oh, and the last guy playing tonight had to end his session upon meeting yours. And I had to take control of your guy just to wrap things up. And your guy managed to bust out of his cell (they're not made for beefy half-orcs) and crushed one of the gurads with the door.
