Ranger Spell DC not calculating correctly

I have just created a campaign using the Dungeons and Dragons: 5th Edition Character Sheet. However I noticed that the Ranger class' spell DC does not add the proficiency bonus as it should int he book. I saw a similar post, though the topic was closed with the answer being that the sheet the individual was using was from the D&D Next play test and not the up to date version. However I only saw two versions to choose from, the other being shape. Is there something I am missing?

Post a screenshot of the following sections of the sheet so we can assist in troubleshooting -
  • Class section (so we can see the current class levels
  • Core stats section (so we can see the proficiency bonus displayed and the other core stats)
  • Spellbook section (specifically the dashboard at the top of the section listing the DC's and so on)

Also, can you confirm that you see the same problem on a brand new character you create? If the problem only shows itself on an old character it is possible that an old (and incorrect) attribute is being used when making calculations/dice rolls but that the correct attribute is displayed on the sheet. testing with a brand new character can help to verify whether this is the case

Edit: The older Next sheet is now no longer available for selection to help avoid the confusion in the other post you referenced

On the Shaped sheet (which uses the same formula as the default sheet) I see the formula showing correctly. Level 4 ranger (prof 2) with 16 wis (+3) gives a ranger DC of 13 (8+2+3 = 13).

So it does indeed seem something is setup incorrectly.
Idid make a new character sheet on a test campaign to recreate the problem. I have attached the Class, Core Stats, and Spellbook section screen captures. All I did on this test character was fill in the ability scores and class level to rule out something else effecting the DC. With a wisdom modifier of +4 and proficiency of +2, the spell DC for the Ranger should be 16, but reads 14. I appreciate the help..

The spell save DC is correct on the sheet, it should be 14. The formula is 8 + proficiency bonus + wisdom modifier

I think that perhaps you were expecting it to be 10 + proficiency + wisdom mod. If I remember correctly, there was a time in the Next playtest where 10 was the base for the spell save DC calculations....the full 5e release has all the spell save dc base numbers at 8.

Hope this helps
Ah well don't I feel dumb. Well thanks for your help and the quick replies :)
