The Completely Overdone Biography of Brother Tobaias Steward Cleric of Cayden Cailean Part 1: Early Childhood: The call of the Accidental God Tobaias is the fifth son of innkeeper Tomas Steward and his wife Merieta owners of the Drunken Boar the best inn of the small city of Skelt in the young nation of Nirmathas, and the home to the best beer in 100 leagues. As many places that provide especially good drink, the Drunken Boar is also a temple to Cayden Cailean the Accidental God. Tomas was a kind and fair man, a good father and devout cleric of the Lucky Drunk. Tobaias's mother Merieta is the master cook of the Drunken Boar and proud member of a semi-secrete organization called the Starstone Brewers. The inn is a safe house for them, because of this there has always been children at the inn not just the family, most go to orphanages run by priests of Cayden Cailean. The inn and the Steward family are beloved members of the small city of Skelt. Tobias was born in the year 4680AR on the 11 th of Kuthona on the anniversary of day of the ascension of Cayden Cailean. Tobias had a splendid childhood, he had many playmates his age, a kind and happy family, his brothers from the oldest Tibor to the youngest Korvoth got on well enough they were a close and good family. Many of them believe that Tobias was blessed by the Lucky God because from when he could tell hops from grain he has been brewing better beer than anyone that Tomas has ever met. Because of his upbringing, Tobaias felt the calling to serve The Accidental God most of his life. When he was 15 years old his father ordained him a Cleric of Cayden Cailean. Part 2: Starstone Brewers Soon after he was ordained Tobaias was helping his mother hunting down leads to find orphans in nearby areas. By 17 he was guiding orphans and travelers to and from the orphanages that the Starstone Brewers ran in and near Skelt. He took over running the local chapter a few years later, when hes was 20 on his way back to Skelt with two orphans that was taking to the inn, he met a young sell-sword named Gromian Grifth they became close friends and shared the road whenever they were headed in the same direction. A few years later while Gromian was escorting Tobias back from an orphanage they made camp on the road while they slept they shared a vision of a banner with a shield and a tankard and a compass it was planted on a hill they knew well. The hill was two days travel toward Tamran. They agree to go there and find an old man on the hill, he tells them “'E’lo lads looks like you have been called to join us...” Part 3: Lucky Bastards The trio had heard of the Lucky Bastards the reputation they had was excellent and they had been key to one of the battles that secured the freedom of Nirmathas. They signed on to the company knowing that in the theater that they had been engaged would help them establish contacts that they would use later on as Pathfinders. Marlow was given a position as a scout, his size and skills making him a valuable member of the company. Gromian was given charge of the company’s messengers, able rider and good with a weapon made him a great choice and gave Captain Charles Kartor the chance to mold the young man potential into a great officer that he saw he could be. Tobias was welcomed with open arms being a cleric of the Lucky God and patron of the mercenaries; he was made assistant to the company’s Doctor and powerful cleric of Sarenrae Kyra Dawnblossom. They became close friends with a young spellslinger with a flair for the dramatic a half elf named Fomiel from the city state of Korvosa. A bit of a prankster he loved to leave things charged with static and shock his friends. They spent the next year supporting the Kingdom of Nirmathas clearing trade routes of bandits leaving the country’s main army ready to defend any incursion from the south (clearup later who the country’s conflict is with). In late spring the Lucky Bastards were contacted by Sir Gyrad Tolgrith on bequest of The Saffron King of Korvosa he was to reopen The Crimson Coast Road and reestablish trade with Nirmathas. Captain Charles Kartor found this to be both a worthy cause and a good pay day, he told the Nirmathas government of the offer and they were very happy to see the Lucky Bastards go to the Bloodsworn Vale to help open trade west once more. Part 4: Battle of The Blood Revenants In early summer the Bastards crossed into the Bloodsworn Vale, the captain broke the company into small groups and they made their way to the Korvosan’s in less than a week with almost no incidents. Tobias only had to set a broken leg of one of Gromian’s messengers. A skilled brewer and cleric of Cayden Cailean he was now considered a good luck charm of the company and loved by all the men. Marlow and Fomiel had become fast friends and had been paired off to support each other in the crossing of the Vale. Gromian had the roughest crossing of all the friends; he was run ragged by the commander keeping in contact with all the units. When they reached the encampment of the Korvosan army they could see why they had been contracted most of the Korvosans were just trumped up laborers with some sword training. They were engineers and their mission was to restore the road so caravans could cross the vale. The company’s first order of business was to clear out a large nest of kobolds nesting near what was to become Fort Thorn. This was done in short order by the veteran mercenary company. The Company's order were to provide defense for the engineers and clear out any dangerous creatures. It was to be an easy enough task for the Company. But short after arriving they notice that was not the case. On the first night a few people desapeared with no disernible cause to it. Most of the men accredited the disapearance to people getting fed up with harsh working conditions and other complaince the men had. But on the second day even men from the company had gone missing also. But it was then that Marlow began noticing small tracks leading from and away from the Camp. The weigh or the body that made the foot prints was light enough to be almost imposibles to track. A small detail unit stayed guarding the engeneers while the rest of the company comenced a search for the missing men. It was then when they found a small cluster of farms not included in the Maps. It had taken them all day searching, it was twightlight by the time arrived at one of the farms. Marlow, Gromian, Tobias and Forniel were task to investigate one of the barns when all kinds of noices could be heard all across the farmlands. As they emerged from the barn, small silluettes were hopping and attacking the company. Alonge with them, the reast of the missing men. "To arms, defend our Brethren" screamed Gromian "stay close, we fight as one" the rest of his group complaid. Forniel began casting spells with fast movements of hands and wordplay. Marllow stayed by Tobia's side as they both made crossbow bolts rain on theyr enemies. But as Gromian made his charge and stroke the first of the small attacker, it was too late to when he notice his sword cutting threw children's flesh. A few hit the ground after the first few swings, the blood spilled over him to add to the horror. The group hesitated for a few seconds as they watched these fiendish children eat their way across the companies ranks. The whole scene reeked of dark powers and sorcery. The missing men had been risen after becoming food for the little ones. The battle didnt take long, they were children after all. But the image of that night will stay in the minds of the surviving men for an eternity. (credit goes to Che for the last part If I find my notebook I'll ad in a bunch of details that I had)

The blood of children was in his hands, and only his answered confession to Iomedae could free him from his vow. He prays every night for the soul of those children as well as his enemies. "So much death have come by these hands... no more" its believed to have been his last words spoken out load. Gromian believes that once his Confession is heard, Iomedae will guide him as her sword and bring justice to Korvosa... and his Eternal Vigilance will begin. (credit goes to che)

Gromian Griffith (He has removed the mask).
Ælfrick Stolya Ældrick Stolya was an ambitious man. Not a surprising trait, given his Chelaxian heritage. But unusually, he was very successful. In spite of the best efforts of his "loving" family, Ældrick, a very ruthless importer/exporter of goods became rich, and even arranged a superb marriage with a Chelaxian high, but impoverished, noble lady. Amazingly enough, he even managed to love and cherish her. A son was soon born, Ældruss, the apple of his father’s eye. The boy grew up strong and quick, a militarily-inclined leader of men. Another son was born, much later. His birth destroyed his mother’s health; in a matter of months, and despite Ældrick’s considerable efforts, she wasted away and died. Ældrick despaired, and spent the better part of his fortune in bringing her back; he also spared no amount of scorn and hostility for his second, ill- starred son, Ælfrick. Stolya Sr. concentrated all his efforts on his firstborn, who entered the Korvosan military very young, and rose quickly through distinguished and valorous service. And then he was lost in a routine patrol on the borders of Korvosa. This blow was too much for Ældrick, who withered away visibly after the loss, and ceased to care for his much diminished business and estates. He became totally reclusive, a ghost in a frail mortal shell, haunting his home even before his death. Ælfrick, meanwhile, grew into a very strange and studious young man. The half-Shoanti wife of Ældrick’s majordomo took a shine to the boy, and taught him much on non-Korvosan ways. Every book in the house, whether a dull accounting ledger, or some exciting tale of adventure was memorized and filed away in Ælfrick’s mind. He impressed the local apothecary so much that he became his apprentice, and within a year had mastered all that the overwhelmed amateur physician could teach him. Ælfrick gathered money from a dozen consultations, took out a loan, and disappeared from Korvosa for a decade. Most thought he had died, but the boy had merely enrolled in the University of Cheliax. Years later, Ælfrick is back. His father is dead, his inheritance a legal tangle, mostly through the agency of Ældrick’s majordomo, who is an old man with a sharp legal mind, and has the Stolya relatives fighting amongst themselves and with creditors, ineffectually. He desires to find some trace of his much-storied older brother, find the fortune needed to restore his family’s good standing within Korvosa, and make his way in this very grim part of the world.
