GMT Sunday afternoons D&D5e

I'm hoping to DM for a good group of dudes, I'm open to a lot of different styles of game, it all depends on the players. I want to use Roll20 for voice, video depends on everyone's internet connection. I don't use a grid during gameplay. Feel free to post what kind of game you're looking for and see if anyone else is up for it.
Hello, Me and my friend are new players but would like to join your group if possible. If there's more you want to know from us let us know.
Hey id love to play with you guys im est and i could make it out. Im a great player and i could help dm if you need to take a break
You guys looking for any particular type of game? Or to play a specific character? I'm hoping to work out the details with the players, rather than create the campaign and say 'here it is!'
Hi Do you have any space left? I'm a fairly new player but I'm in love with RPG. I know basics for Pathfinder and D&D5e but have lots of free time to learn a new system. I do not have any particular concept but I have lots of different ideas for characters. If you are interested in having me as a player here are examples of the backstories I wrote for different games: http://fav.me/d8svjos http://fav.me/d8rhq0d http://fav.me/d8okmav http://fav.me/d8rizhp Hope you like them :)
Here are some ideas I have for campaigns, do any of these spark anyone's interest? Underdark Antiheroes Desert Heroes Naval Knights Deadworld Airships City Intrigue
I'd like to play a clanless dwarven bard, and a campaign with airships seems cool. Airships, dungeons & Dragons
Bards are great in a social setting, you might end up being the 'face' of the party, even the captain of the ship. What would your motivation in life be then? Exploration? Revenge? Running away from something?
I'm Making a character-sheet now for it, personally i'm thinking his clan/town got raided in a random orc raid, not one for revenge, his mind is set on exploration and securing a legacy in his clan name as he is the last of them.
Could be a campaign with regular ships at sea either, not just airships. Airships need high magic, or some technology. Or both. And carrying the stories of a lost clan would be cool for a bard. It's not just about singing songs and stuff, but lore and knowledge as well.
Is your campaing in fearun or a own world? is there like a major event taking place, like 2 kingdoms clashing or a ancient evil on the rise? or more like a free to explore sandbox?
I haven't decided anything yet! There are probably two kingdoms at war somewhere though. I could use a published world or make up something new, as long as the elements that the players want are all there.
For airships u could use the Riot games idea with Hextech. If you have any idea
That looks cool. So Matt, does all this fit with your ideas? What do you want to see in the world?
Have you thought about making a total spin? For example making Elves or Dwarves the main race? But that's just a crazy idea... I thought about different kinds of cities. Like there is a country where the capitol is basically a giant temple, or another one where instead of order the power belongs to many gangs, guilds (pretty much Shassaramh from the first link), or even a city floating in the air or Elven village in the trees. Just thrownig stuff at you :P (My imagination is like a roulette u never know what comes out) But for the whole world structure... mh.m.... maybe something from "City of Stairs"?
----> World where every country is influenced by a different diety. For example: Rosck is a god and his country is free to develop because Rosck likes to just sit back and observe how this little humans try to acomplish something more / Laidra is a goddes and her counry is stuck in 12th century just because the goddes negates all the progress. And its only the humans that are influenced by the diety. All plants and animals stay the same. Laws of physics stay the same. And humans mostly accepted their god/goddes wishes. Why? Because they all want to believe in something, and gods live as long as they have active followers. It leaves a gape for some forgotten god to lurk in the shadows or blend into the crowd on the streets. It's just another idea based on "City of Stairs" (no spoilers included)
I like the idea of gods influencing their domain, maybe in a maritime world thats mostly islands small and large. where ships and airships are the primary means of transportation. maybe there is some evidence of a major cataclysm that happened to an ancient civilization, and there is much to be explored. and did i mention lots of pirate's!

That is perfect. It would be great to see how the nations interact in ports. Just imagine a ship full of folk from Laidra's seeing the city full of magi-tech machines :P perfect!!!! Saij what do you think of the level of Diety- Follower interaction?
Well the game could start out in an elf nation, Most people are elves and they run the show. But after a while the characters could move on, and cross some wild lands infested with orcs, take refuge in a dwarf mine, then reach a human city. Gods might have big schemes, but they probably wouldn't pay attention to low level guys. So I suppose I'm looking for the kind of setting the story starts off in. The details of the local setting need to be decided, everything else can be filled in as it becomes necessary. If none of the characters care about gods, then we don't need them in the game. If they are a big deal to any player, then they have to be in the game. Same with pirates. ;)
just wondering if this has already started? or if your looking for any other players etc etc
Maybe Deity can only manifest in their temples if they choice to do so and interact with peoples. the temple must have a high amount of a particular metal, gem, or stone present to do so, the more and flawless the better. Like a god the sea would want silver, and sapphires. The god of war would want iron, steel. and gold. Lots of powerful temples would increase the power of a god, and thus its champions and angels". any follower can be made a champion or angel if a god chooses, usually the most devout or those that have the personality as them. difference between angel and crusader is power given to them, don't think angels should fly tho and of course some those metals and gems are rare
Ok guys I'm tired of refreshing. Can we get into a comunicator of some sort? Do you guys have some time?
We haven't started Thomas, we're just throwing out ideas. If you're free around 1pm GMT on Sundays then feel free to wade in!

What would have happend if Frodo just sold "The One Ring"
lol but I'm serious about the comunicator
i got time, skype?
Let's wait for GM to decide
But add me anyway - Mateusz Białek with the red head comics lady as an image

I'm at work now, but if you guys want to get together and come up with some ideas that would be great. If you focus on the group, where they start off, and what kind of activity they are involved with at the start I think that's best. The later stuff will grow from the early sessions of the game anyway.
Ok
from krasnystaw, poland?
yep
So we came up with the start. We have an overall situation in one part of the world as well as introduction to the story for players. It's a world of many Gods some are bigger, some smaller but all of them seek power. There are two ways for a diety to obtain this power. First is through it's followers, the more people and the harder the faith of those people is, the bigger influence the god have. The second way is through metals and precious stones. Each diety has it's own metal/gem. Obviously you cannot have all the gems in the world just for yourself, what results in wars over mines or especially big and beautiful jewels [or any aother kind of magical items] . With their powers gods can change their most devoted followers into champions, powerfull beings endowered with celestial powers [for GM to decide]. These creatures are called Angels. Angels aren't immortal they have special powers and it is hard to kill them but they can be killed. Party starts on an island size of the England, in the capital city, main temple. Each of the characters somehow (it's for players to figure out how - maybe a letter or a bounty board message) got to know that one of the Angels seeks adventurers to send on a mission. So our characters meet in a giant temple [GM has to decide of wich diety and how does it look]. It is important to mention that they are not the only ones that answered the call [place for the GM to get some encounters with other parties]. In front of them stands an Archeangel [Again for GM to decide how he wants to describe him/her] and gives them the mission. They, by all means, are to obtain The Tear [or any other for big and really expensive gem]. The specific location of said gem is unknown [investigation], but the Archeangel tells adventurers that it is situated on a different island and as of now other diety has power over it. [It can be either our own big quest, or a mission that leads to another, maybe an open war... or some intrigue].
Hi. Would you have room for one more? I've been looking for a DnD game in GMT hours. I see you've been looking at airships. May I suggest you take inspiration from Ebberon? It's a high-fantasy world and one of my favorites. They basically use "magitech" (technology powered solely by magic or binding spirits). Here are some faqs we could start from. http://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/Eberron_Primer http://community.wizards.com/forum/eberron/threads... Sounds good, the party could all know each other at the start then? They could be a mercenary company, or a group of thieves who pull off heists?
Maverick, there's room.
We were thinking about forming a group at the start in the temple, or the Archeangel could put them together. You know how in every campaign you are meant to know each other and then one day when something comes up you have to introduce yourselves for the first time :/ But you are the GM it's you who decides
Barry O. said: Sounds good, the party could all know each other at the start then? They could be a mercenary company, or a group of thieves who pull off heists? The idea was that we got to meet up in the temple and decide to party together. But maybe 1 or 2 character already know each other from previous jobs.
Personally, I would like for our characters to know each other before the start of the campaign. I've never done it before. And a mercenary group ala the black company would be fun.
I think I found the map, but it's for further discussion https://dramaqueenchronicles.files.wordpress.com/2... 4656x2300 it's huge....

Praise Glen Cook !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think we can manage to role play on that level tho
Well then you can make up the relationships for people who already know each other, and the others can meet up in the temple.
I like the map. And it's way better than the blobs I get on map generators :P.
i think thats a good compromise
Starting characters don't necessarily have maps of the world, all we need to know so far is that there's an island, and another island. :) I think it's better to leave everything else unknown, because a few sessions in we might want to add something new, rather than be constrained to whatever's in the map. On the other hand, if a character starts off with a background as a sailor, or cartographer, then they should have a good sense of the geography of the world, at least of the known world.
In theory there could be two rival groups here! Both after the jewel, playing in different sessions.
BTW where do you want us to get the character sheets to? And are we gonna be using D&D5e? And can I get an unusual race in?
suppose thats possible, but i guess when we clash with each other we need to schedule a day were we all are online. as dm you can have 10 - 12 ppl in a session
It's D&D5e Matt. Maybe we'll get online in Roll20 this Sunday and do a combined character creation/worldbuilding session. If there are more than 5 players then we can consider the rival groups thing.
Heres my skype Barry message me on there live.isaaceag160
