Tuesday Night 5E Group Looking for Replacement Player/Character

An established 5E group is seeking a replacement player as one of our original members has scheduling problems... This game plays on Tuesday Nights at 7:00 PM CDT, game normally has 6 players, the player who was forced to drop out was a Fighter... Is prior experience in 5e required? I have only played pathfinder really, so I wouldn't know all the ins and outs of 5e, but have been wanting to dive into it and learn. If the lack of experience isn't an issue, then how long do the sessions usually run for? As long as it wasn't longer then say 6ish hours or so it wouldn't really be a conflict with my schedule at the moment.

I don't know if the spot's been already filled but, I am interested in joining. I've been playing 5e for around 7 months now. It's been my main playset since its 'official' release
