LFG DnD 3.5, Rokugan

Looking for players to partake in a playtest of a new campaign I am custom making, if it goes well it is going to be a long campaign set in the Oriental Adventures campaign guide with a unique storyline.  It is Dungeons and Dragon's 3.5, I have one player interested for sure right now, another two tentative, anyone who wants to partake please state so here, I am working to get a Google Hangouts set up for the group, the campaign will be a weekly game on fridays, though that can be changed if need be by the other players, probably around 10pm Eastern Standard/Daylight Time.  If you're interested please either private message me or state your skype here for now, also anyone who knows how to set up a google hangouts I'd appreciate step by step instructions on how to do so.

definitely interested. how long do you intend to run each game? I ask because I shouldnt play past 1am Central Standard Time.

As for game length, I think we should be wrapping up around 1am CST, thats a good four hour campaign

it doesn't matter i can do this game ot but the only problem is that i do not have a mic or webcam so all of my stuff is text based and the game is not ready to go as of yet i wont be able ot play this friday though as i a going to be somewhere with out wifi

I'm interested if we could work out a different day, the time works for me. I've been looking for a longer campaign to play.

Is Saturday a good day? keep in mind Sunday to Weds are bad for me, 'cause I have school Mon to Thur.

I'm new to this site, got an account cause I moved and it was the only way still be able to video chat with them, but i'm free on Fridays so i'm definitely in. I'll pm you my Skype name if there's a spot open.

NIcholas, you stated that you plan to start this Friday evening.  Did you want characters built by then or is that planned to just be a 'get to know you' session?  If you would like characters, what books are we using?  Are we using 3.5 or L5R?  How are ability scores being generated?  ... And do you have an world/campaign info?  Is there something that our characters should link into (common past, region, interests, desires, ...).

Roll your characters how you please, you can play ANY 3.5 style character, however there are benefits to playing a character type from Oriental Adventures and penalties to playing from away from that, such as not starting with Common (normal common is referred to as Barbarian) and the Rokugan Language is Common now.  You CAN pick it up with intelligence.  Other than that, everything will be explained and decided at game start.

I haven't played on this site before so I am not aware of any common etiquette but I just thought I'd touch base if there was anything to be done before the game.  The game is scheduled to start in less than 24 hrs. Sorry if I am bombarding you with questions, I'm just used to a lot more detail. Do you want characters ran by you?  What is our starting level? Is LA buyoff allowed?  Any restriction on sources?  Do you use homebrew content? (Not that I was planning to use any but it can open up options.)  Any information about the world and what should be worked into a characters background?  Are traits and/or flaws allowed? Without listing specifics (I can PM it all to you) I was thinking of a character that started off in a wild region, striving for survival.  He has a strong connection with the night and shadows, helping him through hard times but he still struggles until one day finding himself nursed back to health in a monastery.  They take him in and he learns new ways.  Though still not loosing his connection to the shadows, eventually fully embracing it.  It would work out a bit better if we were staring above 1st level to have a chance to cover LA and his initial levels before being trained at the monastery.  Thus he could have the background and game mechanics to match and not need to stick around a monastery to pick up a new class.  But that is just my thoughts without knowing anything about your campaign or the rules used.
