Arkadios Dragomair's Journal As if being deep in a cavern surrounded by Kron knows what with only some weird glowing mushrooms for light . I find myself shacking up there in an inn full of now known criminals. It didn't seem long after I closed my eyes only to be awoken from pleas of help from guards outside. We rushed ourselves to call, as we stepped out the door of the inn, it crawled over the wall. A creature that resembled much of those that we had just faced earlier in the cavern, but this one was more grotesque and the stench it emitted filled what air we had. I rushed in, sword drawn ready to slay another vile being of the deep when another crawled over the wall, and then another. We tried what we could to fend em off and was beginning to gain ground when something larger climbed over the wall. This time it was green and the stench was unbearable to the point as I almost lost last nights dinner. It quickly found me and with one strike sent me to my knees frozen and unable to regain myself no matter how hard I tried. The others rush to help out what they could and I finally was able to move again. Knowing the odds were growing against us I back from the battle and head to our only escape, the portal. Running I took a look back to see yet another large green one climb over the fence and with the rest they closed in and surrounded Kayle and cursed him the same way they just did me. I stopped in my tracks, turning back wanting save our comrade when I saw Dayareth risk his own life and single handed saved Kayle from the creatures grasp. Though it seemed in vain, as they were on us again as we tried to escape to safety. I began a silent prayer to Kron, asking for safe passage to the after life when a bright light filled the cavern pushing us and them apart. We could finally see it, the portal was finally in reach, we gather ourselves to the escape as whatever was in the light fought off the creatures. The light spoke to us, begging for our escape. One after another we climbed into portal, I looked back to see Kayle was in shock and heard him mutter "Mother?!" "Run!" it retorted, as I dragged Kayle into the portal with me. With a thud we landed on the other side, still stuck in what look to be a cavern, a single flame flowing in front of us providing little light. We took a moment gather ourselves, "What in Kron's name was that just now!" I exclaimed. As my words echoed thru the cavern, there was an odd sound coming from around the corner. Fear filled my chest, worrying if it was more of what we had just ran from. Knowing what trouble awaited us from back in the portal I stepped forward lighting a torch in search of what could be here with us. Kayle and I peered around the corner to see three odd looking creatures, they seemed to be made from some sort of glass or crystal. Behind them was a faint sparkle of what did seem to be a crystal vein. Before we could evaluate the situation, Dayareth pushed forward with licking lips heading for the crystal, he's over eagerness caused him to make the creatures aware of us. We tried to push in to see if we could get pass peacefully but as Kayle got close, one of them head butted him in the gut. We made sort work of the creatures and were able to get some chunks of the crystal that Dayareth was able to appraise for 50 gold a chunk. There was enough for everyone in the group as we shared. We wasn't able to enjoy our victory long before a loud female scream filled the cavern. I was able to locate were the sound was coming from and quickly followed it. My path was soon blocked by a large pool of dark liquid that seem to look like Tar. After some brief discussion we decided to tie a rope around Gearbags and send him across. He got about half way when he suddenly sunk below, Kayle and I panicked as we quickly pull him back into us. He informed us that there was a room underneath the tar with two beings hovering over a body. We sent him back in to help drag us in, and after we landed I couldn't hold back any longer watching the two rock like beings shuffling thru the dead's belongings. The two quickly gleamed at us, emitted some weird magic that hurt really bad and once again I thought I was taking my last breath. Florianne was able to bring us to our feet and gave me enough strength to summon power from Kron to smite one of them. Watching his comrade vanish in light, he fled behind him able to meld with the rock wall escaping. Once again we take a moment to regain ourselves, this journey has been more than I've ever trained for.
