Games That Use Seating Order

I am playing with running Better Angels. Normally, the game uses seating order as part of the mechanics. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this in an online game?
You are seat one, players are assigned seats as they log on to the game. The GM is generally the far left position on the screen, not politically mind you, If color is not an issue take Red and as they log on have players take orange, yellow... This will keep their seat assignments clear R.O.Y.G.B.I.V.-wise.
Ah, thank you.
I'm not familiar with the system but alternatives (in case people drop and rejoin which could mess up the avatar order) would be to create tokens and order them from left to right; or even to add entries to the initiative tracker for each player.

I'm trying to find the release notes/documentation for it, but one of the fixes the Devs rolled out in the last 6 months was predictable and persisted ordering of players along the bottom of the screen.

I would do as Pringle, put down Tokens on the game table to represent the seating positions of the players. You can even put a virtual Table and Chairs on the board, and put their tokens in their chair. This way you can manually re-order the seats if there is a reason they should change for the game, such as switching partners for another round.
Currently, the screen orders player names according to the order that they actually joined the campaign. (Thus, the person who made the campaign, even if they're not the acting GM, will always be first in the list.) This makes using a set "seating order" pretty easy, as you just start with the person at the top and place "seats" down the list.
why not just use the turn tracker?
