THIS Is really a rough ROUGH rough draft so far, without editing , and it is not completed. Some things may not make sense in the general text and notes. If you can understand it, how do you think it looks so far: (feel free to use it and expand on it) DnD 5e Dungeon Master Campaign: World: Forgotten Realms (alternative) Pantheon: Pantheon of two K'sa (Knowledge,Light,Tempest) sister and T'ri (Nature, war, trickery)brother, (lesser dietys) Zokar (Life)Father (the greater diety) Coin: Forgotten realms Restrictions: players handbook races but no uncommon races (tieflings, dragonborn.half orcs ecT) Setting: Kingdom of Tethyr (Velen coast)Fuedal Monarchy Starting area: Eldaium (EL- Day- Um) common/dwavish/elvish It was in Velen you had heard of the comming and going of ships of all kinds that would travel the western coast of Feruen. You and a handful of passengers, that comprised of merchants, sailors, knights and common folk board a trading vessel called the "Lady Alyssa" from the city of Velen. Your buisness in Velen had ended and the prospect of sailing to many lands on the Lady Alyssa's trading route gave you the inexpensive means to travel abroad. You realize that the trading vessel was on its last leg of its route, and bound for home port in Darromar. After half a day, the captain of the ship decides to take a quick stop to trade with a small village of Eldaium just on the southern coast line of Velen. He tells all the crew and passengers they will be anchored for the night while they let loose the small boats for passengers to visit the village. You decide to go to the village with some of the passengers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As you get off the skiff, you step onto the long dock, where you notice fishermen tying down their boats, mending nets, and salting their catch in preperation to sell to the local trading posts. The air smelled of fish, salt, and wood smoke. The weather cold, damp and the sky grey. It is evening. You hear some of the passengers inquiring with one another of what they had here at port. From fish to wood, metals, furs and stores of grain. At the end of the dock was a building, which presumes to be a trading station, a local co-op for sea traders to buy fish and the local goods. ================================================================================================================= A man comes out of the co-op. He was a short, balding fat man, sweaty and unkempt. He did have a loud voice, and charasmatic way about him , he says "I am Rosc, your buisness man at this co-op, please come inside if you wish to trade, your ship is always welcomed here to our port and we are glad to have you, we thank you all for comming. To all who wish to see our town feel free our horses are ready for you to take up the road. Your feet will be happy that you did. " Just behind the building is our inn, we have plenty of room, if you wish to trade tommorow just go ahead and stay there. we are only a hop n a skip away. Again we thank you for comming!" You and a handful of passengers walk past the local fisherman, piles of nets, tied down boats, provisional carts , bait boxes, and see the Whales Watch Inn. A three story building of bustling activity. It is here you decide to spend your time before the Lady Alyssa sets sail for Darromar on the morrow. The bartender was a unattractive woman, busy behind the bar, clothed in long blue dress and tied bonnet. Sound was deafening from the musicians playing a hardy song, to the local fisherman talking in their rough loud accents. Laughter was everywhere from this seemingly tough bunch. You sit in the corner joining with some of the familiar faces from the Lady Allysa, some looking out of place, like yourself. and waitress comes up to YOU ALL. the man behind her catching a feel up her thigh, but with a smack she hits him and says "Mr. Orland, if your wife knew the bullocks you would loose tonight, you would wish to not have done that, yet." The man turns around back to his drink caressing his sore face. A rough and hardy laughter came from the bar. She turns around, apparently unfazed by the incident, "I apologize, can I get you all anything?" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- bar- 30 ft hight 50 x 50 ft. fire in the corner, large bar table 10 tables, 40 people 2 waitress, 1 bartender. 2 musicians dark, dim. Fire place pot of food, bread, water, pale ale, jerky 2sp rooms- 1gp ability checks- insight dc 20, deception dc 10, intimidation 20 persausion 15 = Woman- Beatrice Wiggins (waitress) age-25, 115 lbs, attractive, blue eyes, blond hair tied, pale skin, clothed in red dress, and a white bonnet.long nose abilities:wisdom (perceptive, spiritua, insightful)(feeble, scrawny- strength low), unbelievably lucky unless rolling a 5 whispers occasionally.(mannerisms),friendly useful knowledge- her father has close contacts to the Count ideal- respect., bond-protective of close family members. flaw- has a powerful enemy. (a pirate) Ability checks-DC 20 (hard), 15 if it involves giving money , or helping the town (charisma, wisdom) If asked: What do you have? Pale ale for the most part, our disterly is running dry with goods to make our best these days. -how come? - the season is nearing its end, we are afraid we do not see many trading vessels comming this time of the year to bring us the exotic liqours, or extra supply of hops, yeast and barley. -ask for drink (pale ale, water, a moonshine) - (reads order), will that be all? how much are rooms? -rooms are in the upper levels, not sure how many left, but usually we have room in the barn if full, free in the barn and 1gp for a night of stay here. Locals always giving trouble? - Not really, most of em know who I am, daughter of logan who runs the logging company up the hill. If they messed with me my father will send the guard to arrest. If he told The Count, the count would send them beyond the forests to work the mines in Silverreach. that guy orland- Oh he is one of them that likes to follow me round town, buy me flowers and thinks he has me but his wife will not be happy when i chop his balls off and put it in the stew. Those miners think they can get what they want but they know better when it comes to me. -is he trouble? No, and your best not to cause trouble with them -but we want to cause trouble Trust me, you dont. -why Because, i will tell my father, in turn, will tell the count. You dont want to go to the silverdeep mines do ya? -i dont care trust me, haha you dont. Can I get you anything else, a ale, directions to your room pot of stew? -Count -The count has only been here for a couple months, but has brought production up. His wealth having brought over from the capitol hoping to turn this here village into the next Velen but good luck with that, when we cant defend ourselfs against the pirates in our waters. My father is very close to him, so i will not speak any more of the Counts affairs. =You are hiding something (she is not, not yet) Pirates- Yeaaaa, they sail near shore every so often but they do not cause a direct threat to our shores, Some come here to start trouble or come here for food and wine. We will not argue with that. Fat gold pieces they leave to as if they own the worlds wealth. -defensis- all we have is the guard towers beyond the village guard house, they cant even fend off the occasional attack by goblins and spiders in the wilds. Spiders and goblin- This whole town use to be wood elf territory 100 years ago, goblins and spiders usually nest in wood elf villages. Hah, the kingdom of Tyther thought to erradicate everything, but it was only the past 10 years all sorts of creatures have been popping up. What about these creatures- To know more, i would go to the hunters lodge in the morning, when they open. Catch em quick before they leave. They may even recruit you in hunting some of the beasts. Luckily, non have come into our town. We worry more about Pirates, who have not dared to do anything to our town, just yet. Why do u think the pirate do not attack- Well, they fight among themselves, in the middle of fighting south, and we are not prosperous enough for them to raid. Plus, our woman are claimed to be unattractive, and boring. Is our ship safe- For the most part, we do not see many trading vessels this time of the year, but this time of the year they do not pass by our waters much either. (try leading the group telling them that the bar is almost ready to close, people are leaving and the rooms are about to fill up) (try leading the group, let them know of the hunter lodge, monsters comming around more.) Most part, lead them to their rooms so they can sleep. ------------=-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The party goes to sleep for a long rest In the middle of the night, all of you hear the sound of commotion comming from outside. ---------------------------------------------------------------- wisdom- 10, intellect- 10 (if all fails, you get a knock on the door) if succeed the characters get to choose what to do. have them hear, "It is sinking, burning!" from the looks of things, the ship , The lady alyssa burning bright, illuminating the darkness of waters. The whole town is in commotion, there are words comming from the people, yelling, and worried "Pirates!" some would say , and "we have to send word to Velen" the woman in panic, leading their children in their homes, the village guard in formation near the beach, but no sign of what caused the mighty blast, nor what caused the ship to sink slowly into the waters. The wind is picking up, the smell of burning wood drifting through the village. by the shore, you see the count of the village, 10 of his village guard, logan, and his daughter betrice. ------------------------------------------------------------------ if someone ask for investigation or perception, do not roll It is apparent, the ship lady alyssa has been destroyed, suspected to be pirates. if your party wishes to talk to the npcs, make it known they are afraid , worried. they are sorry you are stranded. The guards will be more than likely edgy, and protective. There is no sign of what is out there. The Baron speaks to the gatherers, a bell rings for everyones attention. "ATTENTION, attention, Order!. The night is very dark, I say unto you all to stay in your homes, and that the men keep a watch on the surrounding town until the break of day. As it is right now, the far horizon has not the sign of the pirates. Nor of anything for that matter. We will send a messenger out to Velen by horse. No one is allowed to leave the village upon their return. Go into your homes people, and keep watch, our guards will be there to protect you all." if anyone asks to leave, ask them to leave. Anyone contesting to offer aid, if frantic, offer a false charisma, persuasion check make it fail automatically. If other action persues that leads to arrest, make it till morning and have him released. Choose to rest again, stay up if you stay up you will need a short rest in the middle of the day tommorow -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (if out of jail, lead away but see people gathering) (if at the inn, you wake up and hear "the barons trade officer is preparing to speak" the town is still on edge. the next morning, the Barons top officer of the trade commision speaks among the mass, in front of the Whale Watch Inn you all are standing among the anxious people, eager to hear news of what happened the night prior. The crew of the Lady Alyssa are shouting and demanding to know what goin on.
