Vision without movement

I'm running a turn-based strategy game. I upgraded to supporter today so that the open map I'm running a game on would become like a CIVILIZATION game and others. Each player only sees their territory and where they have units or assets. My original though was to create light emiting tokens controlled by players on the dynamic lighting layer. They can't move them but have the vision from it. Well it works but only for "all players can see" and the same for on the map layer. If I have them on the token layer I have to give control but they can then move them. There is the TokenLock API by The Aaron. I might upgrade to mentor but can the players still select their token and move it without dropping look around and then place it where it was? The function I'm looking to have for my turn-based strategy game (turns every 2 days) is a token with VISION but PLAYER ONLY and CAN'T BE MOVED except for the GM. In my game the player's send a message to me with their Turn Order including movement of units & characters. Thanks GM Barry A

I think this is a great idea, and I'd love to see it implemented. I'm pretty sure there is another suggestion on here already for this same concept. Gold will likely come by and link you at some point as he keeps up on the Suggestions Forum. With the API and TokenLock, players would be able to move their tokens, but it forces them back to where they were before moving. There are two things to know about this: If the API crashes, it won't be working and tokens can be moved willy-nilly. If you have the map set to only update on drop, dragging about is not such a problem.
I have it set to only update on drop my computer is older. On the TokenLock post someone mentioned about players still being able to move tokens around and being able to see while they move them but they go back to where they started when dropped. I will upgrade to mentor for this month and see if it works and my players like it and wont it in the game. I'll install "IsGM" first then "TokenLock" and give the scripts those names. Should that work? Thanks.
