Hello gamers, This game will be played using the Fate Core rules. The game will take place in a city like ancient Rome and in a similar time period. I say similar because I want to retain creative control and not be slaved to historic events. Players will begin the campaign as gladiators, you will either: Fight until you die, fight until you can escape, or fight until you win your freedom. One of these outcomes (hopefully not the first!) will happen in the first game and be the launching off point that flavors future games. Will you die to half-starved lions? Will you win your freedom after months(in game) of bloody combat? Or will you stage a revolt and escape in the chaos? Fate Core is available as a pay-what-you-want PDF (free is an option). The system is powerful yet simple. There are a few basic mechanics that let you do whatever you want to do. Best of all, there are no lists or tables or charts that have to be refereed to. New players shouldn't get caught up in worrying about reading the 300pg rulebook. There is nothing in Fate Core so complicated that it can't easily be picked up in play. The book even offers a form of character creation that happens during play. Mostly what I want from my players (I'm seeking 4) is the ability to roleplay. Fate is not a mechanic heavy system, so it involves a lot of RP. I think it's important to understand that going in so you know what to expect. The second most important thing for potential players is being able to show up to the game on time and consistently. If you can't make it I need more than 10 minutes warning right before the game starts. I'd like this to grow into a campaign group and when this game runs its course we decide on another one and move on, not just a 3 game mini-series. If your interested please PM me your skype information. I'll set up a quick skype call so we can talk about the game a little more. I know Sunday is right around the corner but I'm ready to hit the ground running and look forward to meeting new players. -Tim
