List of Available Visible Games with Public access to campaigns

Hi guys. I noticed that when creating a game in this system you can check an option that makes the game accessible by other players.. (as a php programmer i know this suggestion would not take very long at all to put into process) the idea is simple.. A list (a bit like the player finding list) that provides all games where the Make Visable option is selected. This means that players can visit games, and see how they are progressing. I find it a little daft to have this option available and then no way to actually get to the game. This will serve 2 purposes. 1. it will give people something to do, when they ahve nothign to do :) 2. it will allow people to get a taste of what other game formats their are, and what they are like. I have just created my new game, and will be posting updates everytime we play,. includign story so far etc.. I really believe this would be a great addition to this site. Cheers Keith

Keith, yes, it would be nice to be able to find & discover the games where the GM has enabled the setting, "Allow public access to campaign". We cannot speak to future expansions, but I believe this is a feature that could be further developed in the future. For now your Suggestion thread is good for comments/ideas regarding expanding this feature of the site. The setting for this is found on your Campaign Settings page, link in the left side of your Campaign Details. The setting is unavailable to non-subscribers (greyed out), and is a subscriber feature for Roll20 Supporter GMs and Mentor GMs. The setting text says this: Allow public access to campaign? Yes No Allows anyone to view your campaign details page, public journal entries (marked for "All Players"), and read campaign forums. Only those you have invited as players will be able to join the game itself, read the chat archive, or post in the forums. What it means currently : I have researched today to find out exactly what this means, and how it currently works, with help from the Roll20 Mod Team and Devs. When this public setting is enabled, then the Campaign Details URL becomes accessible if you share that URL as a link. With "public" setting enabled, go to your Campaign Details page and COPY the web address bar. Go to the Forums (or anywhere on the web like your social media) and PASTE the campaign details link. It is a publicly accessible link now. It can be accessed by anyone, even non-Roll20 members, if you give out the Campaign Details link. Therefore you can give out your link on social media. As the setting description text (in italics) says --- the public visitors will be able to see your Campaign Basic Details, your Campaign Forum threads, and any Journals set to "All Players" from your in-game journals. Public visitors will not be able to view, enter, or affect your tabletop, voice/video, chatroom, or any journals that are set for less than "All Players". Public visitors will not be able to type in your forums (Again, as it says in the italics), and will not appear in your Player list, nor any log of viewers/visitors. NOTE: Listing your campaign in LFG always makes your LFG page accessible, but not your Campaign Details or Journals. Also, creating an LFG for your campaign creates a LFG forum that is separate from your internal Campaign forum. When you make your campaign public with the setting, that's for when you want to share the Campaign Details link, not the LFG link. Member asking about how to search for these public campaigns (Current answer: You cannot find them by search), https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1922911/search-f...
A list of public games would be great if I could actually click on a public game and see info on it. My only concern is that some people enter information from source material in their game, is there a copy right enfirgenmtn possablitity here?

Warren, that's a fair point, and of course it's a risk anywhere on the internet where users can post. Roll20 addressed this in the site policies. Anyone who feels that their work has been used in a way that constitutes copyright infringement should send a notification to Roll20 and it would be handled, according to the Terms of Service - subsection, Notification of Copyright Infringement (DMCA Policy). Reference Link: https://wiki.roll20.net/Terms_of_Service_and_Priva... Additionally, if a user sees something that appears to be copyright infringement, you can Flag/Report an LFG or a Forum post; PM a member of the Roll20 Mod Team; or send email to team@roll20.net Note that a lot of game material is available licensed for republication with certain restrictions, such as SRD (system resource documents), and creative commons. This relates to the Compendium feature on Roll20. Finally, also note that GM's can set some handouts as non-public (simply do not give the "All Players" permission on the handout), and can even still share that handout internally with players by giving the permission to each individual player rather than "All Players", and this will prevent that Journal from appearing in the "Public campaign" viewing.
