Notification should pay attention to thread visit

* I wish the notification messages noticed which threads I visited and wouldn't tell me that there are new messages after I visited that thread containing those messages. Again, the Obari Tavern threads are the culprit.. just because it is so active, if you go a few days without clicking dismiss on your notifications, it becomes really crazy as to how long it takes me to dismiss them all the notifications generated by those threads, even though they are from the same thread (or just a few threads).  I mean.. I visit the thread.. all notifications for that thread should no longer be listed eh?

Each notification is based off a particular person posting. If there is player a, player b, player c in the game and player a posts, player b responds, player c gets notification that player a and b posted. What would be nice as you indicated is that a daily post summary notification get sent instead of individual post notification. I know of some forums that have that option in their member profiles and it would be very nice here to have that type of option.
I wasn't clear.   I am not  referring to the daily Mail that shows me concisely and completely all the replies to threads I am following.  I am referring to the little notification hint at the top right of every page.   Let's say it is trying to tell me that there are 30 new posts to threads I care about that I haven't looked at yet.  Useful information.   It is showing me the first 10 such new posts in that hint. But when I go to the first of those by using the view message button and that post is actually part of a thread with 25 new posts...  Even though I have now seen 25 of the 30 new posts, the notification hint is still going to be prompting me that there are 24 new posts.  So here's what I am saying technically.   If I were to hit dismiss manually on a series of those notifications... Behind the scenes that is generating a call to the roll20 Web api to mark those specific post # as viewed by me on the backend.  It would be nice I think if while rendering a thread to me., all posts rendered were similarly marked read by me on the backend so they don't show on the notification hint afterwards.  It's no big deal unless you subscribe to a thread that happens to generate a ton of activity.   And then it's like   holy smokes.. How do I get rid of all these notifications?
Yeah, I've thought of that several times..  +1
