Shopping and stuff at Fort Lightning

I have a small shopping list that I'd like to check a few things off of while in Fort Lightning. For Speurkat, I want to get some proper riding gear, including the following items: Ring Mail Barding ( A.K.A. Horse Armor DLC ) Cost: 120gp | Weight: 80lb This will increase my mount's AC to 14 Military Saddle Cost: 20gp | Weight: 30lb Gives rider advantage on checks to remain mounted Saddlebags Cost: 4gp | Weight: 8lb I am sick of lugging all my junk on my back Total cost: 144gp I'd also be interested in finding a moneychanger to convert my coin and gems into gold. Finally, may I have edit controls for Speurkat, I want to rearrange her stat info and the like.
While that may be the price listed in the PHB, I believe horse armor dlc multiplies that by 10 lol. For myself, I would like to see if I could locate a journeyman enchanter that I can work with to advance singing shadow in quantum fashion. That would finish it's aesthetics, as well as get it to the first +1 and minor Magic abilities as we've discussed before.
Its 4x cost and 2x the weight based on the armor type, the calculations are correct I think.
Oh I dunno about all that. I was just making an oblivion dlc joke.
Me and that joke:
Lol nice

Is this what you're trying to sell? 1x Gem worth - 25gp (Azurite) 1x Gem worth - 50gp 2x Bone Ship worth - 25gp 1x Statue of Tyr - 200gp Go ahead and make those changes. From my calculations that's + 300 gp and -144gp leaving you with the above items plus 445 Gold, 6 silver, 5 copper

I'll charge you 600 GP and you can get all of those things done by day 5.
Ok that sounds good. Have you settled on what to do regarding the magical effects? The light stuffing properties like we discussed?
Marco G. said: Ok that sounds good. Have you settled on what to do regarding the magical effects? The light stuffing properties like we discussed? It requires attunement. This will be your second attuned magic item since gauntlets of strength were your first. Singing Shadow will have a +1 to attack and damage rolls. Meaning Tarnach will have a +6 to hit doing 1d6+3 damage on each hit (and with furry of blows that means he can do that up to 4 times for a max output of 8d6+12 damage if he crit everything ... on a normal turn assuming you hit half the time, you'll do about 18 damage per round). It can cast light like the cantrip and doing so it glows purple luminesence, you must say Singing Shadow in Draconic for this to occur. No other immediate effects but... Upon becoming awakened as a magic item, something special will happen...we will roleplay this out. Now if you liquidate your gems, that will add 85 GP to your current total of 560.1 GP, making you have 645 Gold and 1 Silver. Then you pay for this, dropping you to 45 Gold and 1 Silver. The smithy who does this is a dwarf in the Kheiron encampment who you'll all head to during the downtime (he's the vendor) His name is Imlimal and he's blind in one eye, from Bearded Keep.
Okay sounds good. However, we were talking before about snuffing out lights, not creating more. That way it can facilitate the shadow monk theme. Like the prestidigitation or thaumaturgy cantrips.

Like the prestidigitation or thaumaturgy cantrips. Right right, so the cantrip will be Snuff Shadows and it will be activated the same way. Snuff all nonmagical lights within a distance equal to your monk level times 10.
Ok that sounds great. Thank Rob.
My shopping list is rather short: -2 potions of healing (which I will make myself) 50gp/each (2 days per potion) -A quarterstaff to replace Darvin's staff 2sp -5 darts to put me back to 10 darts. 5cp/each I will be spending most of my downtime sparring with the soldiers or learning/helping with the doctors with my medicine/herbalism skills.
Marco G. said: Thank Rob. Kind of like THank God, only better.

Spending 4 days on potion leaves you with 1 day to spare. During that day you spend the entire day doing something with some of the soldiers, or the doctors...I'll allow you to gain +1 to 1 skill with which you have proficiency for 40 gp or +1 to 1 skill with which you don't have proficiency for 80 gold. After 100gp (potions) .2 gp (quarterstaff) .25 gp (darts) and either 40 or 80 gp (training) that will charge you either 140.45 or 180.45 gold during the downtime. Can you do me a favor and double-check the value of the gems you currently have, and let me know if you want to sell them (or anything else for that matter)

I'll take +1 into Athletics since that makes the most sense when I'm sparring with soldiers. I'll remove the 80 gold after I make this post.
I'll make my shopping list tonight! I think we'll need some more statues.....
Chris Garrett said: I'll make my shopping list tonight! I think we'll need some more statues..... I think we can do something with this: " RENOWN _ a character can spend downtime improving his or renown within a particular organization". We can move Marit through levels of renown from downtime. He's currently level 1 renown (favored local bard) but with downtime he can move up to 2 (musician with a following) 3 (musician recruited for large festivals) 4 (famous artist that nearly everyone has heard of) and 5 (musician that has created a new era of musical style) ... with each renown level more would recognize you, you may be paid for autographs, favored by politicians, etc... I could also see Marit carousing: "Characters can spend their downtime engaged in a variety of hedonistic activities such as attending parties, binge drinking, gambling, or anything else that helps them cope with the perils they face on their adventures. A carousing character spends money as though maintaining a wealthy lifestyle (see chapter 5, "Equipment," of the Player's Handbook). At the end of the period spent carousing, the player rolls percentile dice and adds the character's level, then compares the total to the Carousing table to determine what happens to the character

Based on my notes, which were an accurate count of your wealth prior to the start of last session, after these purchases you should have 74 gold, 6 silver, and 5 copper.

Did we loot any gold last session or did is there a mistake in my math?
You did loot 30 gold each. Which maybe I missed. That would bring you to 104.65 though. But since it's not a big discrepancy, go ahead and stick with the 114.65 and feel free to convert it into 114 gold, 6 silver, 5 copper

That goes the same for anyone else who wants to save weight by getting some platinum. The coffers at Fort Lightning are deep. Plus you're converting all of your Jixian coin back into the familiar Kheiron coin.
Sounds great.
That sounds fantastic rob! I'm all in for that renown!
Since Trace hasn't chosen any downtime for Vetari, what do you guys think? Let's hear your recommendations for what Vetari should do with his downtime. then we can propose that to Trace tomorrow night. I'm thinking he works with the army's magistrate to acquire some spell scrolls...
Rob, you should come up with a short list of spells that he can learn while we prepare to leave again.
