My new character

Since I am wanting to leave the NPC's behind and strike out on my own - I am making a new character. My original thought was Ranger Illusionist. Here are my rolls. 18 14 14 16 16 15 -- ( documenting for karma's sake) Having read the Multi-Class rules - As stated earlier in their description, specialist wizards cannot be multi-class (gnome illusionists are the single exception to this rule). The required devotion to their single field prevents specialist wizards from applying themselves to other classes. Priests of a specific mythos might be allowed as a multi-class option; this will depend on the nature of the mythos as determined by the DM. It looks like since I am jonesing to play an illusionist, I will need to be an Gnomish illusionist thief since that is a specialty wizard. I will make the decision tonight and let you know. A little gnome that uses a hand crossbow and illusions ..... this could be fun.....
Gnome Illusionist would be a fun idea.
I tried once long ago to play an illusionist for a two weekend gig. To 'aid' the illusion for some spells, I got proficient at making 'egg shell surprises' -- emptying eggs; filling with pepper, sneezing powders, or itching liquids; and then sealing with wax. So I'd 'throw a spell' pretending to be a mage but was just an illusion with props. Was a bit harder to explain when I made a 'fire demon' come out of a campfire though... no eggs to cover that one. (though I think I tossed a 'make smoke puff' into the fire to add to the effect)
After much thought and discuss, I have started Serandon. He is a Ranger - Magic User. I decided not to limit myself to a specialist mage, but I will for character flavor, use illusions for spells because of my interest in them. I will be back later to work on him some more. Player Skills and Options take a while to create characters
Good luck Charles may most of your hits be crits lol

All 2e books are fair game with the exception of psionics, so knock yourself out. Just take adequate notes on your sheet as to what went where, so it is easier for me or appointee to double check your work. I always ask for book and page number, should I need a quick refresher on something being applied, so it doesn't hurt to make note of that to save finding it later. Please and thank you! :)
Keep in mind Rangers don't get "Bonus spells" but you could like you Use only Illusionist spells and "Claim" you specialize in Illusionary magic. or cast that fire ball and claim it was a illusion :p
I have decided to forego magic and just be a kick ass ranger with the sharpshooter kit from the Skills and Powers book.
I do believe that Serandon is done. Please review at your leisure.
