Stat thoughts and more questions (and answers)

Thanks to the clarification. I'm certainly familiar with the idea of Min-Maxing and will try not be abusive. Mostly I just wanted to have more than 35 stamina points and make sure the characters could be distinctive. I'm very new to all this so I may have missed how it works -- is the character sheet active? I don't see it. I'd like to get started so you have time to process my entry.
I'm going to make a character sheet for each of you and give you control. You can "Launch the Campaign" anytime you want and work on your character. Edwin has already sent me his character concept, and it's great! Even so, I'm betting the first session will be spent working on characters and introductions. At least one of the players has never played Star Frontiers before.

I see that Edwin and Alexander have begun work on their characters. Looks like Alexander's is finished. I went through and checked through it and filled in the movement speeds for a Yazirian. Also, I fixed the ammo on the gyrojet pistol. I realize the UI is confusing, but I don't know how to represent it better. The same for the gear. If everything works correctly, when you click the "reload" button, the scripts that I wrote will notify us all that you are reloading, automatically subtract a clip, and then reset the ammo level to the maximum in a full clip. Then it will also recalculate your encumbrance (and equipment value). It worked during testing, but I haven't seen it used in play yet. Looks like Rodworth is still under construction. Probably trying to decide which skills you want most. Did you decide to go with a gyrojet pistol instead of an electrostunner? Carlos has told me his character concept is a Vrusk hacker/street-rat with an interest in driving things that go fast. It looks like all of you are interested in vehicles and computers. Nobody likes robots? Here's hoping Pete wants to play an environmentalist / medic! Haven't heard from him yet. The way you guys are going, we may be ready for play during the first session! I was expecting that we'd need a week just to finalize characters.

Adding a clip section to ammo makes sense. Might have to do that as another addition. Wish I was working with you when I first created the character sheet.
If need be, I could shift my explosives skill to medical to make sure we don't all bleed out. No money for a medkit, though. And, dang this stuff is sophisticated.
think i am complete, lot of decisions, yes went with gyrojet pistol, had to do with cost.
Looks like you have another 10 starting stat points. The total should add to 400 or 405 for humans. XP spent and skills look complete. You also haven't purchased any other gear yet, but there's no hurry.
Stat points look correct now. Maybe my math was bad? Dunno at this point. Still need to purchase gear, but there's plenty of time. I like your bio, although according to the campaign, there is no colony ship. Humans originate natively on Minotaur (as far as they can prove). They have legends... but really vague and self-conflicting. Feel free to keep the colony ship idea, but you won't have any proof, and everyone will think you're crazy.
Clans have their legends and histories, their include conflict with government of Minotaur and the great migration
Understood.
Looks like Ender is going to play a Dralasite medic / psycho-socialist, with strong altruistic tendencies (or emotional scars). Only weapons are a knife and a spray hypo (besides the doze grenade that comes inside a standard equipment pack). Everything looks good and ready to go. Note that I filled out the equipment inside the standard equipment pack and medkit in the "containers and content" section. Also, I've noticed that the last box in the character stat section for each modified final stat isn't very intuitive. I'm going to make a change to the character sheet tonight so that works differently.
I finished the new version of the character sheet. Instead of a "modified" final stat that you have to calculate, I added a "modifier" column defaulting to zero, and now the total auto-calculates. In other words, it's eight fewer fields that you need to fill out. I hate making eleventh-hour changes like that, but I think this will make it much easier for everyone. I plan to show up an hour early before game start tomorrow. If you want to iron out your character or ask questions or whatever, then I will be available then. I expect a chunk of the first session will be discussion of the group, who knows each other best, how you all met, what you want to do as a party, and any last character design decisions. Note that there are still two open slots in the game, so I'm going to have some other roommates in your apartment that you know but that will remain conveniently unmentioned. If those slots get filled later, then those roommates will suddenly get names and become involved in the plot. *grin*
Greetings all, I have completed my character and it sounds like there would be a natural fit with the other Yaz player. I need to improve on the name, however I can see him just using Yaz with folks. His friends may know more about which clan he is with, etc. He's not good with people, however handy to have around. His focus is on driving, stealing and shooting. Eventually looking to become an expert in astrogation. He would try convince his roommates that they could make some good money racing, especially if we had our own rig. Sounds like we have a good opportunity to do that. Looking forward to hanging out with you all. CR
