Plot synopsis: The old Gods existed. Loki, Ganesh, Buldr,
Shiva...Believers give power and eventually with enough followers a
deity comes to life. The same works in reverse. As a god looses
faithful, so does their power wane. Now, generations after their reign
of magic and power they are but sparks floating in the aether. Cursed to
a purgatory of half dreams and a timeless and formless existence.
The Gods thought themselves lost. They couldn't foresee
the rise of modern entertainment. The popularity of the trickster God
Loki due to modern fiction causes enough of a reasurgance of worshipers
that he can pour himself into a mortal shell, an avatar.
Desperate not to fall into the purgatory of the Aether
again, he plans and plots and discovers one hundred keys that will bring
about the Apocalypse, wiping life from the world and returning it to a
pristine state. A pristine state where he can form a new civilization to
worship him. No-one said god's were sane particularly this god.
Because of the sudden reintroduction of magic to the
world in Loki's form enough power has been reintroduced to the world
that the remaining gods can also take over Avatars, albeit with much
weaker abilities. After choosing their avatars and dumping their powers
into these vessels they band together to stop Loki, knowing that the
Apocalypse and death of all life will be their death too.
You play one of these Avatars. Whispered words of your
god and your new powers driving you to do good and seek out the agents
of Loki, whose power grows ever day. Can you stop the Apocalypse? Can
you deal with the maddening whispers of your god? Are you fighting for
selfish reasons or the good of all mankind? Further Details: Hi! This is an idea I've had rambling around my brainpan for a while. I've decided to get the ball rolling on it so I'm making this post to find players! I don't have a specific system in mind, but one of the existing modular systems would probably be best. That being FATE, BESM, GURPS or the like. I'm not familiar with any of those but I'll have time to learn it. So we'll discuss a system then work on character over the next month or so, then onto the gaming. The TIME for this game will be during the WEEKDAY MST any time between 8am and ending latest at 4pm. Each session will probably last three to four hours. So the latest a game could start is 1:00pm ish. I have the first session planned for August. So there's plenty of time to nail down the starting time and day. If interested post here or send me a message.
