Just to start this off as the title says I am a new player to D&D. I have had a great deal of interest in D&D for many years but never had the opportunity to play due to lack of people to play with. Now that I have stumbled upon this site I am looking to finally dive in and get my feet wet. I have not played any campaign myself but I have watched well over 100+ hours of live streams and YouTube campaigns. These campaigns have mostly been 3.5 hence the preference for that edition due to the knowledge I have picked up simply by viewing. Also from what I can see 3.5 seems to offer a bit more of an opportunity to RP and get in to a great story where 5e seems to be more combat oriented. Again wile 3.5 is the preference I would be open to 5e just for the chance to play and get the experience I am also new to roll 20 but I am pretty tech savvy and a fast learner. I pick up on game mechanics and the likes very quickly as well. I am looking to join my first campaign preferably as a Cleric or Fighter but I am also open to caster types as well. Possibly even a rogue depending on the party needs. I have played many MMOs and RPGs for the last 20ish years so I am familiar with the use of many different classes of characters and how they should/could be used in party situations. Regardless of the role I play in the group I am a committed individual and would definitely see the campaign to the end. So any DMs concerned about a new player joining and realizing this is not for them, I'm not that type of person/player and would remain committed through out the campaign. As far as my availability, if there is a set day we play on during the week I can play any time during that set day. Other than that, I am available weekday at around 9-9:15 EST/ 6-6:15 PST. I do not have any restrictions on how late I can play in to the night. Saturday I am available a little earlier in the day starting at 8:30 EST And Sunday availability starts at 7:30 EST. again there are no limitations on how late I can play. Hopefully there is a DM out there willing to accept me in to Their campaign so I can become more familiar with the D&D community as this is something I have looked forward to for years. I would prefer a brand new campaign but would also be willing to join an existing story line. I'm not picky just eager to play! I do have Skype and Google hangouts with both mic and webcam available if needed for sessions' Thank you for those of you that took the time to read this. Also if anyone has any feedback for me as to what else I should work on to getting in to a campaign it would be greatly appreciated. The reason I came here first rather than the group listings is because I do not have a character made and have some questions about the creation process that I'm hoping a DM willing to take me on can answer.
