Creating invisible tokens for enviromental effects?

Hey there, I would really like to be able to use invisible tokens to create environmental effects e.g. players knock the lid off of a magic brazier: smoke pours out in a 20 foot radius - and the aura system that tokens can have seems perfect for this task, but I don't know how to create miniature, invisible tokens to place on top of premade maps. Could anyone advice me how I could go about doing this? Or if there a simpler solution I would love to hear about it :) Thanks for any help you can give me!

Fun with transparency and aura: http://i.imgur.com/8op6E1U.gif http://i.imgur.com/YrtP4ZY.gif http://i.imgur.com/RNdpwnX.gif http://i.imgur.com/5QqMtAD.gif You can do a lot with aura. Only issue I see for you is losing track of it. There are few API tricks around for caring for that.

I would suggest creating a character for transparent tokens. For the token, use a clear gif you scale to the size of a square. For sanity purposes, set the name and one of the auras to be visible to the GM only and give it a square aura with a -.01 radius and some color. That will allow you to see a translucently colored square (the aura color) and a name where players will see nothing. Use the other aura with the visibility set for players to show the environmental effect you want. You can change the name of the token to reflect what it is representing.

Daniel N. said: Hello! Just to be sure... The Aaron, "one of the auras to be visible to the GM only" need a API? Thx! Does not require the API. Permissions for the Auras are in the Advanced Settings tab of the Token Settings: https://wiki.roll20.net/Token_Features#In_the_Advanced_Tab
Can't you just put an aura on the brazier token?
