Import character breaks initiative

These questions surround 5e and the two 5e character sheets if that is important. Twice now our game has imported characters to different campaigns. Once because we had to go back to one for a reason and wanted to have updated character sheets and another because we are starting with the new 5e Shaped Character sheet (great work, BTW) and wanted to have our the original 5e sheet for reference. Each time, the initiative on these sheets has been broken such that it no longer sees the token as being selected and does not add the DEX mod. So my use questions are: 1. Is there a way to update a character in another campaign without having to export/import? 2. If this is the only way, what should we do to not break initiative? 3. Barring any affirmative answers to the above, how do we relink the tokens so initiative works. Do we delete all the tokens and begin anew, attaching the character sheet as per the wiki? thanks in advance H
I can't speak for the character sheets, specifically, but when you're moving from one sheet to another, even in the same system, it's to be expected that not everything will carry over correctly. Different sheet authors have different naming conventions and styles for their attributes. I would suggest you spot-check your sheets after you've imported it, and make sure all the fields are filled in. It sounds like the Initiative value didn't make it over. When in doubt; click the field value and hit enter to "re-enter" the value.

I agree with Mark's assessment. I believe the Shaped sheet began as a modification of Actoba's sheet, so many of the attributes will line up, but there will be some significant deviations as time goes on.

I can't confirm this right now but I believe a character ported from a vault and not transmogrified will not be attached to its token. (When the token is drug from the journal to the table top... It will have the proper name but it will not be associated with that character sheet.)
I can confirm what Wes stated. For whatever reason, a character imported from the vault will be tied to its token, but the token is not tied to the character sheet. The fix is to drag the token out, modify it to be associated to the character sheet again, edit the character sheet, delete the token, and add it back. It's a bit tedious when you're importing multiple character sheets at once. I don't believe this is an issue when you Transmorgify a character sheet, however.
Thanks for the replies everyone. The fact that the sheet does not carry over everything is exactly why we archived one campaign and started anew, importing the character sheets. I am aware of the things that do not carry over between the two sheets as I keep track in the forums. Again, great work on communicating this! Thanks for the confirmation and the step by step. We will try and let you know. H

Nearly everything carries over for PCs from 5e -> Shaped 5e. Initiative shouldn't be broken. It sounds like the rest have it right that the link is broken on import. Hopefully it all works, otherwise I'll watch this thread just in case.
No Mark, your sheet worked fine. It was the importing that broke initiative. We fixed it by relinking the sheets to the tokens. Loving your sheet so far. Great work! H
